Post-Zionism is so 1990s

By CAROLINE B. GLICK:

The Oslo peace process was based on the radical belief that it is possible to make peace by empowering terrorists and giving them land, political legitimacy, money and guns. To embrace this nonsense, the public had to be willing to tolerate the notion that there was something unjust about the Zionist revolution. Because if Zionism and the cause of Jewish national liberation are just, then it is impossible to justify empowering the PLO, a terrorist movement dedicated to the destruction of Israel and the delegitimization of Zionism.

Most Israelis never adopted the post-Zionist narrative. But they did accept the doctrine of appeasement. And they shared the belief that if appeasement failed, the world would rally to Israel’s side.

Consequently, the beginning of society’s awakening to the lie of post-Zionism at the heart of the peace process was a function not only of the massive Palestinian terror onslaught that began after Yasser Arafat rejected peace and statehood at Camp David. It was also a function of the August 2000 UN Durban Conference and its aftermath in which the international community rallied to the Palestinians’ side. The latter demonstrated that just as Israel’s transfer of land and guns to the PLO had endangered the lives of its citizens, Israel’s conferral of political legitimacy on the PLO endangered the international standing of the country.

The lesson that Israelis took from the failure of the peace process was that Israel has no Palestinian partner for peace.

And until the Palestinians change, Israel has no one to talk to.

Andrew Breitbart: Leading the charge against the left

By John Nolte:

Much of the story represents Andrew’s emotional and intellectual journey – from a “pop culture-infused wannabe hipster” to the bete noire of what he accurately refers to as the “Democrat-Media-Complex.” Because Andrew was incapable of telling a lie, at times the book reads like a confessional, as though he’s sitting across from you over a glass of wine and telling you who he is. This isn’t an accident, by the way. This was a conversation Andrew wanted to have with everyone he knew, and he wanted to know everyone.

The chapter that presents a side that not enough people know about is titled “Breakthrough,” and in it Andrew spends nearly 30 pages meticulously laying out a scholarly analysis of how the left came to be in America. It’s not the kind of work you’d expect from someone who partied through Tulane and had one of the most famous cases of ADHD in America, but Andrew was nothing if he wasn’t well read.

German Islam Conference Ends in Failure

by Soeren Kern:

Senior German officials gathered in Berlin with Muslim leaders from around the country on April 19 for the seventh annual German Islam Conference. The official focus of this year’s forum — aimed at furthering Muslim integration in Germany — was finding ways to deal with the spiraling rates of forced marriages and domestic violence among the estimated 4.3 million Muslims who now reside there.

The main topic for discussion at the conference, however, was not on the official agenda: it was the unprecedented nationwide campaign by Islamic radicals to distribute 25 million free copies of the Koran, with the stated goal of placing one Koran into every home in Germany.

Muslim representatives attending the forum this year were in no mood for compromise, and refused to accept responsibility for any of the myriad irritants in German-Muslim relations, insisting instead that the German government amend its “misguided” approach to Muslim integration.

ABC: even worse than the BBC

By James Delingpole:

Those of you who don’t live in Australia will be lucky enough to have missed last night’s travesty of a documentary I Can Change Your Mind About Climate Change by the Aussies’ gag-inducingly PC state broadcaster ABC. Better still, they will have been lucky enough also to have missed the even more ludicrously biased panel discussion afterwards in which an outrageously parti-pris greenie moderator, a greenie “social researcher” (whatever that is), a greenie youth activist, the head of the ultra-greenie, even-worse-than-the-Royal-Society CSIR and two more greenie plants in the audience bravely took on an evil mining magnate (my new hero Clive Palmer) and an evil climate change denier (Nick Minchin) in order irrefutably to demonstrate that anyone who does not deny the reality of Anthropogenic Global Warming must perforce be the spawn of Satan. It reminded me so much of the BBC’s nuanced approach to the climate change issue it was almost as if I’d flown home 15 days early.

Muslim, Zionist and proud: His father praised Hitler, but Kasim Hafeez writes about love for Israel, Jewish people

Kasim Hafeez:

I am a Zionist, a proud Muslim Zionist, and I love Israel, but this was not always the case. In fact, for many years I was quite the extreme opposite. I experienced the high levels of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel activity taking place on British university campuses, because I was the anti-Semitic, anti-Israel activist.

The Thought Police Arrive in Sacramento

Lee DeCovnick:

One of the finest conservative moments in cinema occurs in first few moments of Serenity, Joss Whedon’s homage to personal freedom and liberty. River Tam, a ten-year-old girl is being taught in a classroom about the “independents” — armed rebels who fight against the totalitarian government.

Teacher: With all the social and medical advancements we can bring to the independents, why would they fight so hard against us?

River: We meddle

Teacher: River? [Chinese] Shuh-MUH? [English: I’m sorry?]

River: People don’t like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don’t run don’t walk, we’re in their homes and in their heads and we haven’t the right. We’re meddlesome.

Teacher: River, we’re not telling people what to think. We’re just trying to show them how.

The European Anti-Semitism Sweepstakes

by Bruce Bawer:

When Nobel Prize-winning German author and world-class left-wing crank Günter Grass sunk to a new low a few weeks back with an anti-Semitic poem that would have warmed the heart of Joseph Goebbels, I observed that “in a continent swarming with self-seeking literary intellectuals who ooze self-righteous anti-Semitism, Grass has resumed his place at the head of the whole unseemly pack.”

Well, if the latest screed by Norwegian “peace professor” Johan Galtung is any evidence, Grass’s poem has inspired other leading members of the pack to aim for their own new lows. For Galtung has now served up his own grotesque entry in the Jew-hatred sweepstakes.

BRUTAL: Rep. Gowdy completely destroys Sebelius claim of ‘balance’ over HHS abortifacient mandate

by The Right Scoop:

***VIDEO FIXED***

This is a MUST WATCH. Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) completely destroys Kathleen Sebelius’ claim of ‘balance’ over her HHS abortifacient mandate, exposing the fact that she completely ignored seeking any legal basis for her mandate, whether it be directly constitutional or based on Supreme Court precedent. She claims to have relied on discussions from her lawyers on the mandate’s constitutional basis, however she says there are no legal memos to back up that claim, which means it never happened.

This is embarrassing (via PJ Tatler):

Abortion orthodoxy turned on its head

Chris Selley:

In progressive Canadian politics, it is pretty much not OK to be pro-life, or even on the fence. If you are a member of a conservative party, and if you have in past expressed dissatisfaction with Canada’s abortion laws (or lack thereof), you can count on this being trumpeted, enthusiastically and often, by your opponents.

We’ve seen it countless times in Ottawa, most recently this week: Conservative MP Stephen Woodworth’s private member’s bill motion, proposing a committee that would re-examine when Canadian fetuses ought legally to become “human,” is being held up as evidence of Stephen Harper’s secret plan, contrary to his repeatedly stated intentions, to invade and occupy all of the nation’s wombs.
