Who would have expected that in a Republican primary campaign the single biggest complaint among candidates would be that the front-runner has taken capitalism too far? As if his success and achievement were evidence of something unethical and immoral? President Obama and other redistributionists must be rejoicing that their assumptions about rugged capitalism and the 1% have been given such legitimacy.

More than any other nation, the United States was founded on broad themes of morality rooted in a specific religious perspective. We call this the Judeo-Christian ethos, and within it resides a ringing endorsement of capitalism as a moral endeavor.

Regarding mankind, no theme is more salient in the Bible than the morality of personal responsibility, for it is through this that man cultivates the inner development leading to his own growth, good citizenship and happiness. The entitlement/welfare state is a paradigm that undermines that noble goal.

The descent of the Democratic Party into the depths of class warfare demagoguery marks the final phase of their transformation into the Alinsky Party. A party whose sole electoral strategy is its economic divisiveness, rather than opportunity creation.

Before there was a Chicago community organizer in the White House, a Chicago community organizer named Saul Alinsky had written the map that would take his latter day successor from small time social justice shakedowns all the way to the biggest social justice power grab since the days of Mao and Lenin.

What has Glenn Beck so fired up that he said on his radio show “If this doesn’t wake your a** up this morning, then nothing will?” How about this quote from prominent bioethicists comparing killing a human being to pulling weeds from a garden.

Two bioethicists — one from Duke University, the other from the National Institute of Health — bring up the question “What makes killing wrong?” in the latest issue of the Journal of Medical Ethics. Using their definition of killing, the authors conclude if the person is “universally and irreversibly disabled” and has “no abilities to lose” then killing them to take organs for donation in order to save the lives of others should not be considered morally wrong.

The University of Pennsylvania will be breaking all precedents about legitimizing and mainstreaming anti-Israel activism on prominent college campuses this week — and crossing a new red line — by hosting a conference, called PennBDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions), which openly states that its intention is to train people and organize communities to try to dismantle Israel economically — and, if conference participant Omar Barghouti’s book, “BDS: Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions,” is any indication, otherwise, as well. The conference is scheduled to take place Feb. 3-5.

A Google search of “PennBDS Conference” yields over 1000 entries, including a apologistic article from the Jewish Telegraphic Agency [JTA] saying that Penn is trying to “distance” itself from the conference, and that Penn’s President, Amy Gutmann says she, “does not support the conference…or support its aims.”

Then why are they enabling it?

In her Facebook post of January 27, Sarah Palin characterizes this week’s rash of articles attacking Newt Gingrich as employing “tactics of the left” and using “the politics of personal destruction to attack an opponent.” She claims this “opposition dump” constitutes “Alinsky tactics at their worst” and, as many have suggested, intimates that the articles criticizing Newt were a coordinated assault by the GOP Establishment.

Her commentary is as much an endorsement of Newt as it is an indictment of those who do not support him and went public with their views.

I disagree with this author enough to feel compelled to comment about his evaluations. His entire article is based on his premise that Sarah Palin’s comments are a de facto Gingrich endorsement. I think he misreads her. I think she genuinely wants the vetting process to continue and her reasons,  other than to prolong the process, are because she hopes Rick Santorum gains momentum and comes up the middle to take the nomination.

It’s a GOP where the Tea Party won’t be welcome, where the federal government will continue to bailout out banks and unions and everyone who’s anyone will continue to make money- except of course you and me.

We’ll just continue to get stuck with the 100 year mortgage payment, as the GOP continues to be the “tax collector for the welfare state,” in the WSJ’s apt phrase.

That’s the takeaway from Florida where Florida Representative Will Weatherford, a Romney proxy, helped redistrict Tea Party favorite Congressman and retired Col. Allen West into a much more liberal district than he previously represented.

I guess Tea Party ideas of limited government and fiscal responsibility aren’t wanted in the GOP under Mitt.
