To date, the Republican presidential primary race has been the only place to have generated any useful contributions to America’s collective understanding of current events in the Middle East. Last month, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich became the first major political figure in more than a generation to pour cold water over the Palestinian myth of indigenous peoplehood by stating the truth, that the Palestinians are an “invented people.”

As Gingrich explained, their invention came in response to Zionism, the Jewish national liberation movement. Since they were created somewhere around 1920, the Palestinians’ main purpose has not been the establishment of a Palestinian state but the obliteration of the Jewish state.

For his truth telling, Gingrich was attacked by fellow politicians and policy hands on both sides of the ideological divide. To his credit, Gingrich has not backed away from the truth he spoke. Rather he has repeated it in two subsequent Republican candidates’ debates.

Christians aren‘t taking New York City’s ban on churches meeting in public schools lightly. On Sunday, hundreds of religious leaders, politicians and individuals who stand firmly opposed to the now-infamous church crackdown joined together to march across the Brooklyn Bridge.

This was the largest show of support against the law that will take effect unless Mayor Michael Bloomberg or state officials intervene before Feb. 12. If the regulation isn’t overturned, at least 60 churches will be homeless as of next month. A previous protest earlier in January on the steps of Manhattan’s Tweed Courthouse featured strong-worded rhetoric. In previous events held against the ban, pastors were arrested.

Arutz Sheva has received an unconfirmed report that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu plans to announce a plan to uproot communities and carry out mass evictions in Judea and Samaria.

Due to the political impasse between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, Netanyahu is expected to propose a final status solution that would leave Israel with only the major settlement blocs and eastern Jerusalem.

All Jewish communities outside the major settlement blocs would reportedly face destruction under the plan.

The report follows a report Monday morning in the Hebrew-language Ma’ariv newspaper claiming that Netanyahu has agreed to relinquish sovereignty over the Jordan Valley.

A senior political source told Arutz Sheva that Netanyahu will present the plan to retreat from Judea and Samaria to U.S. President Barack Obama in exchange for the U.S. endorsing the principles Netanyahu laid out in his Bar Ilan speech.

Perhaps with this battle in mind, Friends of Sabeel-North America (FOSNA), a chief anti-Israel advocate among churches, has hired a Presbyterian minister as its new organizer to reach a “wider Christian audience.” Sabeel’s describes his goal as addressing the “increasing awareness among American Christians and the Palestinian Christian community and the principles required for a ‘just peace’ between Israel and Palestine.”

In other words, the organizer will rally U.S. Christians initially for anti-Israel divestment and more ultimately against any special U.S. friendship for Israel, with the final goal of deconstructing Israel as a primarily Jewish democracy.

If you followed the mainstream media’s coverage of the Occupy Wall Street protests earlier this fall, you might have a number of concerns about the state of the American press. For instance, you might be concerned about what the media’s fawning coverage of OWS, which included whitewashing racism and anti-Semitism on the part of OWS participants, says about the press corps’ ability to provide fair and politically dispassionate coverage. Similarly, you might wonder if the volumes of newsprint devoted to an anarchic and often-violent campaign that had no coherent or cohesive agenda might indicate badly confused priorities on the part of media gatekeepers.

One thing you likely would not think is that the extensive coverage of OWS indicated a dramatic decline in American press freedom. President Obama has been tip-toeing away from the Iranian nuclear end-run for three years, until the window of opportunity to preempt catastrophe has almost slammed shut. The Saudis may be buying their own nukes. Iran is threatening to block almost half of Europe’s oil by shutting the Strait of Hormuz, and it can do so — but only at a terrible price. But once the mullahs have nukes, nobody will dare to stop them.

Europe, the Arabs, Israel, and yes, the United States are all therefore facing the end of the road. If we fail to act now we will become Tehran’s running lackeys very soon. Obama’s three years of dithering has made this moment unavoidable.

To each other, they talk about “inequality.” There is another word they like: “exploitation.” They use that one on the masses. But the words all mean the same thing. Liberals don’t like the economic results of 200 years of capitalism in which the daily income went from $3 per head per day to over $100 per day, and they don’t like the results of the 20th century which began with the rich fatter than the poor and ended with the poor fatter than the rich. Invisible hand? It’s a myth, say liberals. What we have here is exploitation:

One reason many liberals were overjoyed with the election of Barack Obama was that they could use his race to shield their socialistic policies. This is why the R-word was the first one out of the lips of many critics when people formed the Tea Party. They could not wait to label critics as racist.

I am not saying that no conservatives are racist. What I am saying is that the trumped up charge of racism is a diversion from the real issue: President Obama is bankrupting the country.
