Israel approves 90 new settler homes in controversial area north of Jerusalem, ahead of Obama’s visit

If I’m not mistaken, these are the settlements Netanyahu promised in retribution over the Palestinians going to the UN to get their status upgraded. I’m sure, though, that won’t make a difference with Obama because even though the US opposed the Palestinian status upgrade at the UN, settlements are the real issue for him as he only tends to come down on Israel and never the Palestinians:
