Abortion orthodoxy turned on its head

In progressive Canadian politics, it is pretty much not OK to be pro-life, or even on the fence. If you are a member of a conservative party, and if you have in past expressed dissatisfaction with Canada’s abortion laws (or lack thereof), you can count on this being trumpeted, enthusiastically and often, by your opponents.
We’ve seen it countless times in Ottawa, most recently this week: Conservative MP Stephen Woodworth’s private member’s bill motion, proposing a committee that would re-examine when Canadian fetuses ought legally to become “human,” is being held up as evidence of Stephen Harper’s secret plan, contrary to his repeatedly stated intentions, to invade and occupy all of the nation’s wombs.
