Obama’s 2013 budget proposal requests $99.8M for Israel’s missile defense, down some $20M from 2011.

The thing about Ben Smith is that we always seem to eventually discover something about him that helps to explain so much.
Over the past few weeks, after he moved from Politico to Buzzfeed, I haven’t written a word about Ben Smith. There’s no reason not to give someone the opportunity to clean up his act. Now that some time has passed, though, it’s become pretty clear that the same Ben Smith who blogged over at Politico is the same Ben Smith commanding a bunch of reporters over at Buzzfeed.
Smith’s journOlist speciality is creating distractions to keep Republicans off-message. He’s a genius at coming up with nonsense-narratives, or items that build upon or amplify nonsense-narratives, that are specifically designed to give Obama’s Media Palace Guards something to talk about other than Obama’s failed record or whatever it is the Republicans want to talk about. I first caught on to what Smith was doing back in 2008 when he published this.

Get this: The General commanding Russia Strategic Rocket Forces, Lieutenant General Sergei Karakayev, said in December that the new Russian Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs) are needed — because the existing ones are vulnerable to US missile defenses.
This is apparently the result of all that nice goodwill generated by the Obama administration’s “reset” of relations with Vladimir Putin’s Russia and the ratification of the New Start Arms Control Treaty. It should come as no surprise: nuclear weapons, along with oil and gas exports, are just about the only thing that still qualifies Russia as a “Great Power.”

Centuries of persecution before Israeli “occupation.”
In the voluminous commentaries on the Middle East today very little attention has been given to the sad fate of Christians in the Arab and Muslim countries. Even less attention has been paid to the contrast between the treatment of Christians in Israel and their treatment in Arab countries. In Israel Christians have religious freedom and their numbers have increased. In Arab countries the religious freedom of Christians is restricted and their number has been reduced because of harassment, fear, and persecution. It is well to remember the words of Martin Luther King: “In the end we will remember not the words of our enemies but the silence of our friends.”
Oh my goodness, I’ve never owned a credit card! I confess!

Activists in Tennessee are asking about a taxpayer-sponsored terror training conference scheduled for later this month, as federal and state agencies have enacted a high level of secrecy regarding the two-day event and its scheduled speakers.
The terrorism conference is being sponsored by the Middle Tennessee U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Nashville Joint Terrorism Task Force, and is being held at the offices of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on February 27 and 28. Additional partners include the FBI’s Continuing Education and Professional Development Unit, the Tennessee Office of Homeland Security, the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point, and the American Muslim Advisory Council.

As the present writer disclosed in an earlier article, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta revealed a strange duplicity during a CBS News interview on January 29th. When asked about the situation with Iran, Secretary Panetta responded with a surprising number of “ifs,” as though to give the impression that there may in fact be some doubt about the threat from Iran, that Iran may not be pursuing military nuclear capacity, and that there may as yet be no actionable intelligence to indicate that Iran intends to pursue a nuclear option. These “ifs” are very strange since Secretary Panetta must be aware of the public information about the Iranian pursuit of WMD capacity, the Iranian proxies and allies in South America that support Iran’s objectives, and Iran’s commitment to use its nuclear weaponry to destroy Israel and intimidate the West.

Seeking to overturn a DOJ judgment that its voter photo identification law, passed in May 2011, violates the National Voting Rights Act (NVRA), the state of South Carolina recently announced that it is suing the Justice Department and Attorney General Eric Holder in federal court.
The decision by South Carolina comes as the DOJ is vigorously working to stop the spread of states enacting or implementing voter photo ID laws, prompting fears that the Obama administration is undermining the integrity of the upcoming 2012 elections.
In December 2011, the DOJ blocked South Carolina’s new voter ID law from taking effect when it determined the South Carolina law was discriminatory, citing an unfair burden on minority voters.
Why on earth would minorities not have IDs? Do they not have a right to drive or attain a passport or military ID cards like white folks? I had no idea these policies existed…
Or is this nonsense just a pretext in order to permit illegals to vote and in order to permit continued systemic voter fraud? Hmmm …

The Gipper never called her a European
The Cousins have finally clocked the EU for what it is: a corporatist, protectionist, anti-American racket. Heaven knows it took them long enough. For decades, they did everything they could to encourage political integration, pouring money into the European Movement, ending every summit with a demand for deeper union.
Not any more. Most Americans are now watching in dismay as their country becomes ‘more European’ – by which they mean more timid, more centralized, more regulated and more indebted. At CPAC over the weekend, speaker after speaker was applauded for tearing into the Brussels model. The Chairman of the RNC delivered a withering indictment of the Obama administration, which reached a climax with: ‘If we go on like this, we’ll soon be applying to join the European Union!’

French Supreme Court on Wednesday overturned a judgment against Israeli orthopedist Dr. Yehuda David, who was sued for slander by the father of Muhammad al-Dura.
“This is a great victory,” David told Arutz Sheva.”This is proof that I spoke the truth and the Palestinians lied in an attempt to discredit the State of Israel.”
