Media Matters For America head David Brock surrounded himself with “more security than a Third World dictator,” including a semi-automatic-toting “assistant” protecting him from right-wing assassination squads, according to the Daily Caller.
Add in ex-journalist Brock’s reported $250,000 annual salary and Media Matters financier George Soros may start wondering if he’s getting the best, ahem, bang for his buck.

You might think so if you took your cues from a New York Times editorial calling the documentary a “hate-filled film about Muslims,’’ or from the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which declared that it “defiled our faith and misrepresented everything we stood for.’’

Jasser is a former US Navy officer and a past president of the Arizona Medical Association. He is also an observant Muslim, a Wisconsin-reared son of Syrian immigrants deeply grateful for the freedom and tolerance his parents found in America. Ever since 9/11, he has been fighting the Islamist extremists whose goal is to destroy that freedom and tolerance.
“As a devout Muslim I saw it as my responsibility to expose the radicals,’’ Jasser says in “The Third Jihad,’’ which he narrated. “I resented that they were exploiting the religion I love.’’
After al Qaeda’s murder of 3,000 Americans, Jasser recalls in the film, “I had expected to see Muslims in America taking to the streets and protesting against [Osama] bin Laden. Instead, in the years that followed, we saw many Muslim leaders standing up to defend or support the radicals.’’ So he launched the American Islamic Forum for Democracy to defend American values, promote the separation of mosque and state, and expose the Islamist agenda behind certain Muslim organizations.
The best-known of those organizations, CAIR, describes itself as a civil-rights group. In reality it is anything but.

Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast Accused of Medicaid Abortion, Womens Services FraudPlanned Parenthood continues to find itself in the midst of controversy. Karen Reynolds, a former employee at one of the organization’s Lufkin, Texas, clinics, has blown the whistle on an alleged multi-million-dollar billing scheme.
Reynolds, who worked as a health center assistant for the clinic from 1999 until 2009, claims that she was instructed to help the organization bring in optimal revenue by falsifying records. In the end, this purportedly enabled the organization to extract monies from Medicaid and the Women’s Health Program for services that were never granted.
According to Reynolds, this was the procedure that staff followed in all 12 Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast clinics in both Texas and Louisiana. The Lufkin News reports:

Discrimination, prejudice, bigotry, intolerance, persecution, racism, and xenophobia have existed in all historical eras and in all countries in some form. However, there is something altogether distinctive in the extraordinary persistence of antisemitism, the hateful and hostile perceptions and persecution of Jews as individuals and as a collective group that has existed for thousands of years throughout the world up to the present. From a rational point of view this persistence is baffling because of the contradictory nature of the negative assertions about Jews, the way in which they are assessed by a standard not applied to others, and because that hostility is manifested irrespective of any particular behavior by Jews. No other group of people in the world has been charged with these characteristics. Antisemitism has been displayed in public life, the media, school text -books, the workplace, religious institutions, and in reference to Israel.

Obama Steamrolled by Catholic Church

The secular Leftists who control the White House were steamrolled last week by the Catholic Church, and they still don’t understand why. Obama’s requirement that church organizations provide contraception and abortifacients unleashed a mighty backlash from Jews, Catholics and Protestants. Leftists fancy themselves as champions of the First Amendment, but now we know that doesn’t include the free exercise of religion.
The real reason the White House was steamrolled is that the Left doesn’t understand what it is up against. Rachel Maddow, for example, thinks people of faith oppose the Obama mandate because it provides “a convenient partisan cudgel to use against Democrats.” To Maddow, profound religious conviction couldn’t explain the backlash. Instead, “partisan cudgels” provide an explanation more familiar to her.
Consider further the always caustic and usually wrong Eric Boehlert of the Soros-funded Media Matters. Boehlert says the fight with the churches “feels like 1962, we’re arguing over ‘birth control’ in 2012.” Boehlert doesn’t understand this fight isn’t about birth control, but religious freedom.
Boehlert doesn’t understand that the usual Leftist tactic of mockery and ridicule won’t work on these opponents. Name calling is nothing compared to what faith communities are willing to endure.
