Blame It on Berlin

WSJ:

Which century is this anyway? We ask because elite opinion is once again blaming Germany for ruining the rest of Europe, if not the entire world economy. All that’s missing are references to the Kaiser or Herr Schicklgruber, but we hope the Germans don’t fall for this global guilt trip.

Berlin’s alleged sin is its reluctance to write a blank check to save the euro—either by underwriting a new euro-zone fiscal union, or granting permission for the European Central Bank to buy trillions in sovereign debt. The chant comes in unison from the debtor nations themselves, the bailout caucus in Brussels, an Obama White House concerned about its re-election, and liberal pundits worried that their welfare-state economic model is under assault. Like the “rich” in America who must pay their “fair share,” the Germans are supposed to pay up to save a united Europe.

The reality is that the Germans—along with the Dutch and the Finns—are the rare Europeans who understand that saving the euro requires more than a blank check. It requires a new political commitment to better economic policy. Chancellor Angela Merkel and her cabinet are as euro-centric as the French, but they realize that money alone won’t solve Europe’s more fundamental debt and growth problem.

‘Blast in Iran struck uranium enrichment facility’

By JPOST.COM STAFF AND YAAKOV KATZ:

Satellite imagery “clearly showing billowing smoke and destruction” has proven that an explosion Monday damaged a nuclear facility in the Iranian city of Ifsahan, according to a Wednesday Times of London report .

The report quoted Israeli intelligence officials as saying that there was “no doubt” that the blast damaged a uranium enrichment site, and asserted that it was “no accident.”

Mohammad-Mahdi Esma’ili, Isfahan’s deputy governor in political and security affairs, called the reports “sheer lies” according to the IRNA news agency. An official from the city’s fire department also denied that there had been an explosion.

The mysterious explosion Monday rocked the Iranian city of Isfahan, which hosts a nuclear facility involved in processing uranium fed to the Natanz fuel enrichment facility.

The source and target of the explosion were initially unclear. Some reports claimed it took place in a military base and others said it was a gas explosion.

Voices of Palestine: Abdallah Jarbu

by Frank Crimi:

Editor’s note: Below is the latest profile of Frontpage’s new series, “Voices of Palestine,” which will illuminate the core beliefs, in their own words, of leading figures in the Palestinian death cult. Click the following to view the profiles of Ahmad Bahr, Mahmoud al-Zahar, Ibrahim Mudayris, Yasser Ghalban, Haj Amin al-Husseini, Wafa al-Bis, Mahmoud Abbas and Ahlam Tamimi and Yassir Arafat (Part I and Part II).

Since its founding in 1987, the Islamic Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas has been vigorously committed to annihilating the state of Israel and all of its Jewish inhabitants in an attempt to replace in its stead an Islamic state.

To that end, the terror group has launched over the ensuing decades countless terrorist attacks on both Israeli military and civilian targets, assaults which have left thousands of Israelis killed and wounded.

The Political Persecution of Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff

by Ned May:

Editor’s note: The following is the first installment of a series of articles following activist Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff’s battle against her own government, as they proceed to prosecute her for disseminating the truth about Islam.

On February 15, 2011, the Austrian Counterjihad activist Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff was convicted of “hate speech” in a Vienna courtroom for what she said in a private seminar about Muhammad and Islam.

The original charge was “incitement to hatred”. On the second day of her trial, the judge at her own discretion added a second charge, “denigration of religious beliefs of a legally recognized religion.” Elisabeth was acquitted of the first charge, but convicted of the second. She was sentenced to pay a fine of €480. Her case is currently being appealed to Austria’s highest court. If the verdict is upheld, and she refuses to pay the fine, she will spend two months in jail.

How could this happen in a modern European democratic state which recognizes the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and enshrines the right to free speech in its Constitution?

The Euro Crisis and New Vulnerability of Europe

by Taylor Dinerman:

The Euro crisis is already eroding the EU’s ambition to become a new kind of global superpower. Even before the economic crisis entered into its current phase, Europe’s leaders refused to turn to the EU’s military and security institutions when some of them chose to intervene in Libya. Instead they chose to allow their successful anti-Gaddafi campaign to be lead by the US-dominated NATO alliance.

The Libyan campaign also showed, once again, the profound military weakness of both Europe’s national military forces and the nearly complete lack of effective transnational combat forces. The reports of the European air forces running short of smart bombs and missiles may have been exaggerated, but no one believes that the stories were wholly without foundation.

Presidential Thanksgiving Message’s Pernicious Premise

By Peter Heck:

In the first Thanksgiving address given by an American president, George Washington encouraged his fellow citizens in 1789 to join him in “acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.” Clearly demonstrating an equal grasp on the gravity and meaning of such an occasion, current U.S. President Barack Obama followed in Washington’s footsteps by calling this generation of Americans to a day of “eating great food, watching a little football, and reflecting on how truly lucky we are.” Quick, grab a tablet of stone and chisel in that pellet of eternal insight before it escapes our mortal consciousness.

Perhaps the comparison is unfair given that Obama did issue a written statement that thanked God for “the many kindnesses and comforts that grace our lives.” Nonetheless, conservative critics pounced, observing that the same president who never misses the opportunity to host an Iftar dinner and extemporaneously proclaim the great benevolence of the God of Islam just totally blanks on the magnanimity of the Judeo-Christian God amidst the very holiday our people have historically set aside to honor Him for His blessings.

The New Nazi Germany aka Turkey!

WALID SHOEBAT:

The Sufi (meant to be peaceful) Imam and most respected in Muslim world Nazeem Kibrisi speaks to a huge audience in Turkey in front of the prime minister of Turkey Tayipp Erdogan and the president Abdullah Gul in 2008. He like Hitler who boasted about the rise of the Third Reich again similarly Kibrisi talks about the rise of Islam and the rising again of the Ottoman empire while criticizing the power of America and Europe. This is exactly what Hitler did in the early 1930s. Hitler regarded himself as the ultimate leader but The Muslims believe their Nazi style supremacist ideology is divine and from Allah. Turkey has already committed a Genocide against the Armenian and Assyrian Christians murdering 2.2 million and got away with it during World War 1 which strongly influenced Hitler in seeing that a country got away with Genocide before he tried it. In fact Hitler and the Nazis copied the Turks in the same methods of forced transports, starvation and concentration camps. The only addition the Nazis did was to invent the Gas chambers. No major power has held Turkey accountable for these atrocities. The media and our governments of the West are not paying attention or if they are they are not acting against Turkey. History is about to repeat and Israel is in the cross hairs. It is the early to mid 1930s again, within next 3 -7 years we will witness a repeated effort to destroy Israel and advance to an attempted destruction of Israel/Jews like the 1940s. It will not succeed as Messiah will intervene but those that do not understand the prophecies they will live in great fear and the world will act in fear till the final count down.

The UN’s International Day of Solidarity Against the Jews

by Joseph Klein:

There is no single issue on which the United Nations expends more time and energy than its advocacy of the Palestinian cause. It dominates the agendas of various UN bodies, supported by American taxpayer dollars, including the UN Human Rights Council, the Division for Palestinian Rights, the Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Human Rights Practices Affecting the Palestinian People and Other Arabs of the Occupied Territories, the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees.

The UN’s obsession over Palestine has led to the world body’s repudiation of its own original two-state solution, spurned by all of the Arab countries and the Palestinians themselves back in 1947.

Beginning in 1977, the United Nations has sponsored the “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People” on November 29th, the date in 1947 when the UN General Assembly approved its Palestine partition resolution. Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan called November 29th a “day of mourning and a day of grief.” The event takes place every year at UN headquarters in New York and at the UN Offices at Geneva and Vienna and elsewhere.

In other words, every November 29th, the United Nations publicly mourns the passage of its own peaceful solution to the Arab-Jewish dispute, which had called for the establishment of an independent Arab state and independent Jewish state.

CBC Host Acts as Apologist For Iran to Stick it to Israel

By: Mike Fegelman, HonestReporting Canada:

In the wake of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) recently issued report that raised alarm bells over suspected military dimensions to Iran’s nuclear program, media coverage, both international and Canadian, has brought forward reportage and commentary analyzing the sabre-rattling, potential for pre-emptive attacks, and the effectiveness of sanctions.

With the spectre of a nuclear Iran on the horizon, this journalism has the potential to make a profound impact on the next steps our elected officials may take to prevent Iran from developing atomic weapons and emboldening a regional nuclear arms race. As we all know, what is reported by our media today may become foreign policy tomorrow.

With the stakes increasingly high, we expect our media to provide informed sober analysis and to not be partisan advocates for the Iranian regime. Leave it to our public broadcaster, the CBC, to come to the quick defence of Iran. On November 21, CBC Radio host Carol Off (pictured right) of the As It Happens program interviewed Chris Alexander; Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Defence on the IAEA report and Canada’s recently announced sanctions on Iran. In what can only be described as theatre of the absurd, Off posed the following line of questions to Alexander suggesting possible excuses for Iran’s illegal nuclear program:

Off: “Given that Iran is next to a nuclear power being Israel, is there any way you can look at Iran’s possible development of nuclear weapons as a defensive act and not as an act of provocation?”

Climategate 2

by Tait Trussell:

The biggest international hoax of modern times—global warming—took another damaging blow with the release on the Internet Nov. 22 of thousands of e-mails from scientists on the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) showing they deliberately misrepresented the scientific literature in order to support their alarmist position on global warming.

This new revelation follows the 2009 scandal when UN scientists were first discovered engaged in a cover-up of their erroneous information.

The new batch of hacked e-mails reveals the complicity of the U.S. Department of Energy in one of the four e-mails released from Professor Phil Jones, the disgraced head of the University of Anglia’s Climate Research Unit and lead author of a key chapter in the IPCC’s Fourth Assessment Report in 2007. Jones is quoted as saying:

Obama’s Canadian Blunder

By John Donaldson, MD:

President Obama and his advisers seriously misread the effect of the delay of the Keystone XL pipeline. The alternative Northern Gateway pipeline is not a dream, but close to a reality which can ship oil to China and expand the use of B.C. Natural Gas.

The Keystone XL proposal would build a pipeline from the tar sands of Northern Alberta through Southern Saskatchewan into Montana and south to the Texas Gulf for end use of the recovered crude oil. Its ultimate capacity would be 900,000 barrels per day and would significantly reduce imports to the USA from OPEC nations, none of which can be considered friendly or stable, making American energy supply and prices hostage to the whims of international politics.

Moroccan Crime in the Netherlands & the Myths of Multiculturalism

by Soeren Kern:

Forty percent of Moroccan immigrants in the Netherlands between the ages of 12 and 24 have been arrested, fined, charged or otherwise accused of committing a crime during the past five years, according to a new report commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Interior.

In Dutch neighborhoods where the majority of residents are Moroccan immigrants, the youth crime rate reaches 50%. Moreover, juvenile delinquency among Moroccans is not limited to males; girls and young women are increasingly involved in criminal activities.

The “Dutch-Moroccan Monitor 2011″ also reveals that most of the Moroccan youth involved in criminal activities were born in Holland. This implies that the children of Moroccan immigrants are not integrating into Dutch society, and confirms that the Netherlands is paying dearly for its failed multicultural approach to immigration.

For 2012, Be Wary of Obama’s Ties to Corrupt Project Vote

by Hans A. von Spakovsky and J. Christian Adams:

When an incumbent’s prospect of reelection looks shaky, his temptation to take advantage of holes in the security of our election process is the greatest — especially if he believes he can engage in fraud without being detected. Should we be worried over President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign given his prior connections to Project Vote?

Project Vote is an affiliate of ACORN, one of the most corrupt advocacy organizations in recent memory. Its employees have been convicted in case after case of voter registration fraud. They have submitted tens of thousands of fraudulent forms, often on the eve of elections, causing chaos and confusion for local election officials in states ranging from Florida to Indiana to Nevada. Project Vote had to admit in 2008 that its claim of 1.3 million newly registered voters was wrong: at least 400,000 were rejected by election officials because they were incomplete or fraudulent.

Some former employees-turned-whistleblowers claim that flooding election officials with an overwhelming number of new, faulty registration forms was planned conduct, intended to cause turmoil and to make it easier to convince election officials to accept questionable registrations and questionable voters on election day.

Calling Things by Their Proper Names

Caroline Glick:

How has this situation arisen? How is it possible that the US finds itself today with so few good options in the Arab world after all the blood and treasure it has sacrificed? The answer to this question is found to a large degree in an article by Prof. Angelo Codevilla in the current issue of the Claremont Review of Books titled “The Lost Decade.”

Codevilla argues that the reason the US finds itself in the position it is in today owes to a significant degree to its refusal after September 11, 2001, to properly identify its enemy. US foreign policy elites of all stripes and sizes refused to consider clearly how the US should best defend its interests because they refused to identify who most endangered those interests.

The Left refused to acknowledge that the US was under attack from the forces of radical Islam enabled by Islamic supremacist regimes such as Saudi Arabia and Iran because the Left didn’t want the US to fight. Moreover, because the Left believes that US policies are to blame for the Islamic world’s hostility to America, leftists favor foreign policies predicated on US appeasement of its enemies.

For its part, the Right refused to acknowledge the identity and nature of the US’s enemy because it feared the Left.

157 Air Force Majors terminated without retirement benefits

Thomas Lifson:

One of the best ways to destroy American military capabilities would be to convince career military personnel — both officers and enlisted — that their commitment to service will not be rewarded with the retirement benefits they have earned by their faithful obedience to orders, no matter the personal cost or risks they endure. The Obama administration seems to be ready to destroy the belief that service will be rewarded as faithfully as duty was performed, one step at a time.

The latest step in that direction is the announcement that 157 Air Force majors will be terminated prior to retirement, without the opportunity to complete the 20 full years of service necessary to qualify for retirement pay.
