Oslo Shooter’s Lawyer: I Think My Client is Insane

by Jonathon M. Seidl:

OSLO, Norway (AP) — The defense lawyer for Anders Behring Breivik said Tuesday his client’s case suggests he is insane, adding that someone has to take the job of defending him but that he will not take instructions from his client.

[...]

Asked Tuesday at a press conference if Breivik was giving him instructions for his defense, Lippestad said he wasn‘t and that he wouldn’t take such instructions. He says the whole case suggests his client is insane.

[...]

Just as I stated yesterday, this man is insane. The left-wing media narrative that this man is Christian is ludicrous and dangerous. If even one Christian is assaulted or, God forbid, murdered as a result of this irresponsible and politically-driven mantra by the media then the blood of the innocent will be squarely on their hands. This deranged man hasn’t stepped inside a Church in 17 years and knows nothing of the tenets of the faith and even goes so far as to state unequivocally that he is ‘a man of logic’ and not religious. So how does the MSM spin this man into being a “Christian fundamentalist”, let alone a Christian?

  1. if a muslim commits a crime then it’s jihad and all muslims are the problem. If a christian does the same it’s an “insane” madman. christian fundamentalists and islamic fundamentalists are as dangerous to western civilization as they are compatible in their world views (anti gay, anti feminist, anti liberal, etc etc)

  2. Read what I wrote. This maniac was NOT a Christian. This man was pro-homosexual, advocated sex zones in cities and in his own words was not religious. The media castes him as a ‘Christian’ simply because it furthers their moral equivalence with muslims argument. He had zero affiliation with anything deemed Christian.

  3. If you use that formulation, bin Laden is not a muslim, as most muslims will assure us that his behaviour is un-islamic, and most muslims are peaceful and law abiding, as are most christians. you can’t have it both ways.

    • Nonsense. Bin Laden quoted the Koran and Hadith, worshiped at a mosque and was animated by his sect’s beliefs about islam whereas Breivik hasn’t stepped inside a church for 17 years, from what I’ve read Breivik never quotes the Bible throughout his manifesto and only describes himself as a ‘cultural Christian’ as a result of being a western European. Breivik explicitly says he doesn’t accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior but is rather a man of logic. You can keep insisting he’s a Christian but there is no evidence to support the contention.

      Breivik Quote:
“Regarding my personal relationship with God, I guess I’m not an excessively religious man. I am first and foremost a man of logic. However, I am a supporter of a monocultural Christian Europe.”

I am a Christian fundamentalist in that I believe in God, the divine inspiration of the Bible, the atoning sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus the Son of God and of His coming again in the flesh. Breivik believes none of that.

  4. Breivik Quote:
“I’m pretty sure I will pray to God as I’m rushing through my city, guns blazing, with 100 armed system protectors pursuing me with the intention to stop and/or kill. I know there is a 80%+ chance I am going to die during the operation as I have no intention to surrender to them until I have completed all three primary objectives AND the bonus mission. When I initiate (providing I haven’t been apprehended before then), there is a 70% chance that I will complete the first objective, 40% for the second, 20% for the third and less than 5% chance that I will be able to complete the bonus mission. It is likely that I will pray to God for strength at one point during that operation, as I think most people in that situation would….If praying will act as an additional mental boost/soothing it is the pragmatical thing to do. I guess I will find out… If there is a God I will be allowed to enter heaven as all other martyrs for the Church in the past.”

    and

““I prayed for the first time in a very long time today. I explained to God that unless he wanted the Marxist-Islamic alliance and the certain Islamic takeover of Europe to completely annihilate European Christendom within the next hundred years he must ensure that the warriors fighting for the preservation of European Christendom prevail.”

    • You just my point for me. He is not a Christian. Christians know there is a God and they pray always. Thanks.
