Have we become a turncoat nation under Obama’s foreign policy?

Has Barack Obama’s foreign policy led us to become a “turncoat nation”? First, as Bill Whittle carefully explains in his latest Firewall video, one has to understand what “turncoat” actually means. It doesn’t indicate treason, but switching sides — with a healthy inference of surrender, to boot. Certainly we see that in the sudden desire to cast Israel as the intransigent in the Middle East, as Whittle states, but it’s hardly the only example, and certainly not the first:

In a particularly authoritative analysis, Charles Krauthammer identifies the extent of the threat posed by Obama to Israel’s interests in his ‘1967 lines’ speech and subsequent remarks:
Note how Obama has undermined Israel’s negotiating position. He is demanding that Israel go into peace talks having already forfeited its claim to the territory won in the ’67 war — its only bargaining chip. Remember: That ’67 line runs right through Jerusalem. Thus the starting point of negotiations would be that the Western Wall and even Jerusalem’s Jewish Quarter are Palestinian — alien territory for which Israel must now bargain.
The very idea that Judaism’s holiest shrine is alien or that Jerusalem’s Jewish Quarter is rightfully or historically or demographically Arab is an absurdity. And the idea that, in order to retain them, Israel has to give up parts of itself is a travesty.
Meanwhile, the equally authoritative Khaled Abu Toameh reports:
The Palestinians are furious with U.S. President Barack Obama. Abbas, for his part, has rejected Obama’s opposition to his plan to ask the U.N. to recognize a Palestinian state in September, and says that he will proceed with his efforts.
… Both Fatah and Hamas have condemned Obama for ‘succumbing’ to pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the pro-Israel ‘Jewish lobby’ in the U.S… Obama, who until recently was seen as a ‘friend’ of the Palestinians, is now being dubbed, in private, by Fatah representatives, a ‘Zionist agent’ and ‘pawn’ in the hands of Israel and the ‘Jewish lobby.’
It surely takes a particular kind of political genius to upset both sides by an entirely unnecessary intervention in their dispute.

Why are people silent as old hatreds rise again?

According to the Jerusalem Post, a group of political activists have ‘announced plans to set up a local version of the Nazi party.’ One would think that this story, the latest evidence that the Arab Spring is rife with anti-semitic sentiment, would turn some heads here in America. After all, we claim to be the biggest supporter and ally of Israel, despite recent comments made by The President. Why are we ignoring old hatreds?

Confronting the Anti-Israel Jihad on Campus

Israel was not created on any land that belonged to Arabs, let alone “Palestinians.” Israel was created on land that belonged to the Turks for 400 years before the birth of the Jewish State. Four hundred years is longer than America has been in existence. The Arab claim has less justification than the claim of the Iroquois to New York. If one is going to roll back the map 400 years, why not 1,000 or 2,000? The land that is Israel today was owned by the Turks and the Turks are not Arabs, and certainly not Palestinians.
How many people under the age of 25 in this room know this fact, that Israel was created on land belonging to the Turks? I see by your hands that there are about ten. Out of more than several hundred. Some education you’re all getting at this university. For those of you new to this history, the Turks could not prevent this transfer from taking place because they had chosen the wrong side in World War I and were defeated. One of the rules of war is that when you lose, the victors get to redraw the map. This also applies to aggressors in war. The Arabs of Jordan and of all the Arab states bordering Israel launched, not one, but three wars of aggression against the Jewish State. By all the laws of international warfare, the Jews had every right to expel all the Arabs from the West Bank and Gaza. But in fact they didn’t.
After World War II, the entire region of East Prussia – the industrial heartland of Germany – was taken from Germany and given to Poland. That was because they had invaded Poland three times in a century. Twelve million Germans were removed from Prussia and from the homes and lands which they had occupied for nearly a thousand years. That was their punishment for being aggressors, like the Arabs.
There were other nations created out of the ruins of the Turkish empire — Arab nations: Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Jordan. Jordan is 70 percent made up of the same ethnic people who live on the West Bank and in Gaza — in other words, Palestinian Arabs. But they are ruled by a Hashemite minority. Where are the calls for the liberation of the Palestinians of Jordan? There are none. Nobody calling for the liberation of Palestine is interested in the self-determination of Palestine. Their first priority is getting rid of the Jews. “From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will Be Free.” The Jordan River is the eastern boundary of Israel, the Mediterranean Sea is the boundary to the West. In other words, Palestinian freedom is synonymous with Israel’s destruction. Who can fail to understand this?
Even the word “Palestine” is not Arabic. It is Latin. The Romans gave the region around the Jordan the name “Palestine” as a humiliation for the Jews whom they had just conquered nearly 2,000 years ago. The name referred to the Philistines, who were the Jews’ enemies but were not Arabs. There were no Arabs in the area until 500 years later. Throughout the subsequent two thousand years, there has never been a political entity or state or country called “Palestine.” The idea of such a country was invented in 1964, fifteen years after Israel’s birth.

Well beyond the American Jewish and the Protestant fundamentalist communities, the people and the story of Israel stir some of the deepest and most mysterious reaches of the American soul. The idea of Jewish and Israeli exceptionalism is profoundly tied to the idea of American exceptionalism. The belief that God favors and protects Israel is connected to the idea that God favors and protects America.
It means more. The existence of Israel means that the God of the Bible is still watching out for the well-being of the human race. For many American Christians who are nothing like fundamentalists, the restoration of the Jews to the Holy Land and their creation of a successful, democratic state after two thousand years of oppression and exile is a clear sign that the religion of the Bible can be trusted.
Being pro-Israel matters in American mass politics because the public mind believes at a deep level that to be pro-Israel is to be pro-America and pro-faith.

Geert Wilders’s Anti-Islam Show Trial “Must Go On”

A court in Amsterdam has ordered the anti-Islam hate-speech trial of the Freedom Party MP Geert Wilders to resume after Dutch appeals judges on May 23 rejected his claim that the court is biased against him.
The Wilders trial, which has turned into a two-year legal odyssey, represents a landmark case that will establish the limits of free speech in a country where the politically correct elite routinely seek to silence public discussion about the escalating problem of Muslim immigration.
The single-minded determination with which the court has pursued the case against Wilders — contrary to the advice of the prosecutors — has led many to condemn the proceedings as a show trial.

Marshall have battled the university for more than a year over the release of documents related to the work of former professor Michael Mann. Mr. Mann had been involved in a leaked email exchange with colleagues that climate-change skeptics claimed showed scientific misconduct.

Taking Liberties: Forced Vaccinations?

“I am a steward of the Lord for this child, “she said as she walked outside her single level home in Lenore West Virginia on Monday. “And I am not going to let anyone tell me what’s best for my child.”

Workman says she was shocked when the principal told her Madison had to receive the shots.
“Helpless,” she said. “I mean there is no other word for it. I am helpless. I feel forced.”
“My child is not a ward of the state,” she explained. “And I should be able to make those choices myself.”
Workman’s attorney Patricia Finn is an expert in forced vaccination cases and she is outraged.
“This is a basic human right,” she said. “To be able to decide what is injected in our bodies, in our children’s bodies, is everything.”
Unfortunately, last December, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals disagreed, and Finn now is vowing to take the case to the Supreme Court if necessary.
“This is a First Amendment issue. This is a 9th Amendment issue. This is about basic freedom,” she said.
Most states, explained Finn have a “religious exemption” for immunizations, giving parents who don’t want their children vaccinated an out.

1. Seven Algerian churches ordered to close

On May 22, the Governor of Bejaia informed the President of the
Protestant Church of Algeria (EPA) that the seven churches in that
province must close down because they do not comply with an ordinance
from 2006 which regulates the exercise of religions other than Islam.
The EPA churches cannot currently comply with these regulations
because the Ministries of Interior and Religious Affairs have delayed
responding to the EPA’s application for registration. Without legal
registration, the EPA cannot apply to register their churches as
places of worship.
Please pray the order to close down the churches will be withdrawn and
that this practice will not spread to other parts of the country. Pray
the 2006 law will be repealed or the necessary procedures implemented
to allow the EPA to register. Pray, too, that all officials involved
will love mercy, act justly, learn about Jesus and choose to follow
Him.

2. Colombian Christians facing increased and intense violence

Colombian Christians are on high alert as intense and deadly violence
continues in the country. On May 12, a bomb exploded in Puerto Lleras,
killing several policemen and injuring bystanders. For several months,
members of Colombia’s main Marxist rebel group, the Revolutionary
Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), have been openly killing individuals
in town streets and burning buses throughout the region. FARC
guerillas have also been conducting an internal purge, reportedly
killing many of their own men and accusing them of being traitors to
the communist cause. It is suspected that many of those killed were
secret Christians. “In all our years in Colombia, we have never seen
it this unstable,” said a VOM contact. “Yet we believe that this is
also the most opportune time that we have ever seen for the gospel.”
Pray for those working to supply Bibles to Colombian believers in this
region, as the need is reportedly very great. Pray the various other
ministry efforts of Christian workers in Colombia will be effective.
Ask God to guide and sustain new believers as they serve Him in a
climate of intense and ongoing violence. Pray those who persecute
Christians in Colombia will repent and embrace Christ as Lord.

3. Iraqi Christian tortured and killed

A 29-year-old Christian man was recently tortured and killed by
members of al Qaida in Kirkuk, Iraq. On May 13, Ashur Issa Yaqub was
kidnapped. His captors reportedly demanded $100,000 for his release.
Three days later, his body was recovered, bearing marks of brutal
torture. According to a local pastor, his kidnappers had reportedly
pressured Ashur’s employer to fire him because he was a Christian.
“Because the contractor was rich and they couldn’t do anything to him,
they kidnapped Ashur, and unfortunately they killed him,” the pastor
said. Ashur leaves to mourn a wife and three children.
Pray Ashur’s widow and children will know the peace, presence and
comfort of Jesus. Pray Christians in Kirkuk will look to Christ for
strength and continue to walk His path of faithful perseverance. Pray
those responsible for the murder will know the Spirit’s conviction of
sin and the Father’s offer of forgiveness, and turn to new life in the
Son.

4. Christian accused of blasphemy in Pakistan

A Christian bookstore owner is facing blasphemy charges due to the
allegations of a local Muslim, his former business partner, in Punjab
province, Pakistan. Ten years ago, Gulzar Masih opened a bookstore in
Sialkot along with a Muslim associate, Abdul Rauf. In 2009, the men
parted ways and each currently run separate bookstores. On May 1,
within the precincts of the local police station, Rauf started
shouting in front of a crowd that Gulzar and his son had burned the
Qur’an and thrown it on the road. A group of Muslims then gathered to
attack Gulzar’s son. He was able to flee, however, and warn his
father. The Muslims went to Gulzar’s bookstore and attempted to burn
it down, but police intervened and dispersed the crowd. Police
allegedly tried to initiate a case against Gulzar, but local Christian
elders and moderate Muslims intervened and found the story to be
without basis. At last report, Gulzar and his family members were
hiding out at an undisclosed location.
Ask God to give endurance of hope and faith to Gulzar and his family.
Pray his case will highlight the injustice of Pakistan’s infamous
blasphemy laws and that such legislation will be abolished. Pray the
Lord will not allow Pakistani believers to be discouraged, but to be
emboldened as they serve a loving and sovereign Lord.

5. Muslims violently protest re-opening of church in Egypt

A church in Cairo, Egypt, was recently prevented from re-opening due
to pressure from authorities and local Muslims. Three years ago, in
November 2008, Egypt’s State Security Intelligence service closed down
the Church of the Virgin Mary and St. Abraam in Ain Shams, a poor
section of the city, after a group of protesting Muslims blocked the
entrance. On May 19, the day the church was scheduled to re-open,
hundreds of Muslims gathered outside to protest. They surrounded the
building, preventing anyone from getting into it and trapping priests
who were inside. They also threw rocks and threatened to kill the lead
priest. Several people were injured, including a Christian bystander
who was beaten by Muslims when he tried to record the attack on a cell
phone. As a result of the protest, the provisional military authority
has backed away from its promise to the church to re-open. At last
report, it was unknown if any of the Muslim protestors have been
arrested.
Pray for healing for those injured. Pray this congregation will indeed
be able to re-open its church. Pray that, in the face of violence,
Egyptian believers will confidently entrust themselves to Christ and
preach the gospel without hesitation (2 Timothy 1:7-12). Pray that
authorities will justly protect Christian citizens against opposition
from militant Islamists.

6. Officials raid churches, question Christians in Azerbaijan

Several Christians were targeted by authorities in the town of
Sumgait, Azerbaijan, in recent weeks. On May 15, police raided the
Sunday morning service of Praise Church, taking place at a local
restaurant. The officials wrote down the names of all believers
present and took them to the police station. Three days later, two
church members were each fined about two weeks’ average local wages.
That same day, police went to the home of another local pastor and
questioned him about his Christian activity.
On May 17, approximately 20 police and officials of the State
Committee raided the private home of a South Korean citizen, where
members of another church had gathered. Some 60 Bibles and other
Christian books were confiscated and those present were taken to the
police station, where they were questioned and forced to write
statements. At last report, the books had not been returned.
Thank the Lord for the faithfulness of the believers and their desire
to worship Him amid opposition. Pray for continued strength for
Christians facing charges and harassment from authorities in
Azerbaijan. Pray especially for wisdom for church leaders when dealing
with opposition. Pray the Lord will continue to spread the gospel in
this nation.

Conversion, Adultery and Savagery Strike Egypt

The true story behind the recent Islamist attacks on Egypt’s Copts—wherein over a dozen Christians were killed, hundreds wounded, and their churches torched—is as illuminating as it is sordid.
To recap, Islamists—or “Salafists,” as many in the Egyptian media are referring to the “Taliban-looking guys in slippers”—demonstrated before St. Mark Cathedral, insisting that their “Muslim sister” Camelia Shehata be released by the Coptic Church, which was supposedly holding and torturing her, a Copt, for converting to Islam. So Camelia once again appeared announcing unequivocally that she never converted to Islam, and would live and die as a Christian.

Obama’s next war

Barack Obama’s tenure as Commander-in-Chief has not exactly been characterized by success. What comes next, however, may make his record to date look like the good old days.
To be sure, on his watch, an extraordinary intelligence-special forces team liquidated Osama bin Laden and drones have dispatched a number of other “high value targets” in what the President calls our “war on al Qaeda.” These are morale-boosting tactical achievements, but in the great scheme of things are more like whack-a-mole than strategic victories. Much more important is the fact that Mr. Obama is in the process of losing the two wars he inherited, and making a hash-up of the one he initiated in Libya.
Worse, Mr. Obama is actively encouraging trends that threaten to unleash the next, horrific regional war in the Mideast -a war that may well embroil nations far beyond, including ours.

Sudan: Obama’s Next Middle Eastern Dilemma?

While Obama has been concerning himself with Israel’s “unjust” borders, a Muslim Middle Eastern country launched a military offensive on the weekend to forcibly settle a border dispute that was to be decided peacefully by referendum.
Dozens of black African Sudanese were killed when the Arab and Muslim government of northern Sudan broke the 2005 George Bush-brokered Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) that ended a 22-year civil war between North and South Sudan and launched a well-planned invasion of the disputed Abyei border region. Dozens of tanks, hundreds of troops and government warplanes were used in the attack that saw the capture of Abyei, a town bearing the region’s name, and villages bombed from the air. Thousand of Abyei residents, who, like most southern Sudanese, are predominantly Christian or animist, fled their homes in terror.
This escalation in fighting has brought Sudan once again to the brink of civil war.

Hamas Will Recognize Israel
WALID SHOEBAT:
On May 19th Walid did radio interview with Simon Conway drive time talk show host with WHO in Des Moines Iowa. Listen above to the entire interview. In this interview Walid predicts that Hamas will recognize Israel because Turkey will arrange and pressure Hamas to do so. This will be a ruse by both Turkey and Hamas to help the world pressure Israel to divide the land and will lead to the covenant of death mentioned in Isaiah 28 which G-d will not let stand. Predicting the exact time frame is not productive but we believe that this treaty will be arranged over next two to five years possibly sooner.
On May 21st two days after Walid’s radio interview the President of Turkey Abdullah Gul (his name means Slave of Allah the Beast) stated in a reuters report that Hamas should recognize Israel. Here is the link for reuters report.

Obama Explains – And Makes It Worse

President Obama’s formulation requires Israel to give up its card and to make a “wrenching compromise” by dismantling most of the West Bank settlements and ending its occupation of the West Bank. But it does not require the Palestinians to give up their card and to compromise on the right of return. That “extraordinarily emotional” issue is to be left to further negotiations only after the borders have been agreed to.
This temporal ordering – requiring Israel to give up the “territorial” card before the Palestinians even have to negotiate about the “return” card – is a non-starter for Israel and it is more than the Palestinians have privately asked for. Once again, President Obama, by giving the Palestinians more than they asked for, has made it difficult, if not impossible, for the Palestinians to compromise. Earlier in his administration, Obama insisted that Israel freeze all settlement building, despite the fact that the Palestinians had not demanded such action as a precondition to negotiating. He forced the Palestinians to impose that as a precondition, because no Palestinian leader could be seen as less pro-Palestinian than the American President. Now he’s done it again, by not demanding that the Palestinians give up their right of return as a quid for Israel’s quo of returning to the 1967 borders with agreed-upon land swaps.

In her celebratory interview with Lemon, congratulating him for telling everyone who he enjoys having sex with, über-leftist Joy Behar demonstrated this very truth. She asked Lemon, “And so you’re going to have people sit there with you like Rick Santorum, who seems like a big homophobe…how do you feel that you’ll be able to handle that easily?”
Gee, Joy, maybe like every Christian feels when they sit down to talk with a Christophobe like you? And that’s the point: far from eliminating discrimination and prejudice, these homosexual rights champions that dominate the press and entertainment world are advocating their own version of bigotry towards those who espouse Biblical morality.

The Left’s Dirty Little Secret

Years ago there was an incendiary article in our local free newspaper. It was called, Berkeley’s Dirty Little Secret.
The article exposed an unseemly aspect of the 60′s, one that isn’t touted in the flattering history books. The dirty little secret was the widespread sexual abuse of children.
While parents were ingesting copious amounts of drugs, while they were off picketing and protesting, there was no one to look after the children. With communal living, the newest roommate took advantage of all that freedom by preying on the little ones. And with the nuclear family an oppressive relic of the past, sketchy lovers and others had easy access to the kids.
With the 60′s over, have the progressives given up their corruption of the innocent? No; they are just sneakier about it. They camouflage abuse with lofty concepts, such as “diversity ” and “social justice.”

The Netanyahu-Abbas Exchange That Explains Why There’s No Peace, Who’s Responsible, and What Obama Doesn’t Understand

You can read for yourselves Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to the U.S. Congress. Both on regional issues and the Israeli-Palestinian question he was quite clear. His speech was vastly superior to those by Obama not just because of the policy content but because he deals with regional realities that the president ignores or just gets completely wrong.
But what I want to talk about here is a remarkable juxtaposition that no one else seems to have noticed. If you understand this article, you can understand all of the problems of the Middle East. If you don’t, please go mess up the lives of people elsewhere.
To set up this point I must first quote extensively from Netanyahu’s speech. He said:

Obama’s Jerusalem secret

Mr. Obama needs a better map. The 1967 line cuts directly through Jerusalem, and the city’s status cannot be detached from the border issue. Before 1967, the Western Wall – where Mr. Obama mentioned he visited and prayed – was barred to Jews despite a provision in the 1949 armistice agreement that all be given access. Israel captured the eastern half of Jerusalem in the 1967 war and annexed it, but Palestinians still claim it as their capital. Although candidate Barack Obama strongly supported a united Jerusalem in 2008, President Obama’s administration denounced new construction in eastern Jerusalem as illegal settlement activity in 2009.
To say that a divided city is the starting point for negotiations concedes ground that no Israeli government will accept. There is no possible parcel to “swap” that either party will agree is as important as the Temple Mount. Muslims claim it is the third holiest site in Islam, but it is at the center of Jewish identity. Mr. Obama might as well suggest making Mecca an interfaith timeshare.

Bolton: Netanyahu said more about Iran in one speech than Obama in two years

Bolton says there’s a reason that Netanyahu put Iran in his speech first before dealing with the Palestinian peace process and it underscores how much of a threat Nuclear Iran is against not only Israel but the world. And he notes that Netanyahu put more focus on Iran in one speech than Obama has since he became President. This is striking considering that the IAEA just released a new report saying that Iran is continuing to stockpile uranium to increase it’s nuclear capabilities.
