George Soros’ War Against Fox News

IBD:

Does George Soros have a bad case of Fox envy against media mogul Rupert Murdoch? Or has he decided the main reason Americans won’t embrace socialism is Fox News? Either way, he’s now buying the news.

Stunner. SEIU Offshoot Mi Familia Vota Caught With 6,000 Bogus Colorado Voter Registrations

Do you remember when Barack Obama said “The SEIU Agenda Is My Agenda”?

Now we know why.

The same SEIU offshoot group that is accused of turning in thousands of bogus voter registrations in Arizona has come under fire in Colorado.

Mi Familia Vota is accused of turning in 6,000 bogus voter registrations in Colorado.

The Denver Post reported:

Washington Post Blockbuster Confirms Worst Fears About Holder Justice Dept. Race Policies

by Andrew Breitbart:

Congratulations to the editors at the Washington Post. Seventeen months after the Eric Holder Justice Department dismissed a slam-dunk case against the New Black Panther Party for voter intimidation, the Post gets around to printing a thorough vetting of the dismissal. The story is slated for Saturday’s print edition. While other media like Breitbart/The Bigs, Fox News, the Washington Times, the Weekly Standard, Pittsburgh Tribune Review, Investors Business Daily, Pajamas Media, and Drudge have had dozens of stories on the corrupt New Black Panther dismissal, the Washington Post at last is in the game.

The story is a shocker too. The shock comes from the middle of the road and factual nature of the story.

There are small problems with the story. For one, the Washington Post is the only outlet that calls King Samir Shabazz by his old “slave name” (Shabazz’s own words) of Maruse Heath. Even Heath doesn’t call himself Heath. Of course this takes some of the sting off Shabazz’s rants against Jews and calls to kill “cracker babies in their crib.”

The Post’s decision to change a man’s name for him is controversial. It has no place.

But overall, the story is very bad news for Eric Holder.

Fire Juan Williams Right Now! — Our Sneering Liberal Culture in a Nutshell

by Victor Davis Hanson:

The Juan Williams Firing — Or a Primer on Elite Liberal Thinking

There were lots of slants on NPR’s firing of news analyst Juan Williams that reflect how surreal cultural liberalism has become. Let us walk through ten of them.

Liberals defend sanctity of free speech for liberals only

Lorne Gunte:

Really, should anyone be surprised by National Public Radio’s firing of analyst Juan Williams? Liberals and leftists are far and away the most intolerant people in public debate. As my friend and fellow National Post columnist, David Frum, likes to say, liberals are all in favour of free speech and a diversity of opinion until they encounter views that differ from their own. Then they are shocked to find people who actually disagree with them and their first reaction is to try to silence their critics.

Hamas-linked CAIR Blames Geller for Shining Light on Hamas-linked ISNA

Pam Gellar, Atlas Shrugs:

You must watch this video, which is entitled, “Bloggers are urging a Campbell Soup boycott over the company’s ‘halal’ soup offerings in Canada. Amina Rubin, of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, and Sallie James, of the Cato Institute, share their reactions.”

It’s a mainstream media knee slapper (or head slapper). The more we catch the media fabricating and manufacturing a news narrative, the more derelict and reckless they become.

The entire piece is about me, a “Conservative blogger” who remains nameless until the hydra headed, Hamas-linked, Muslim Brotherhood CAIR conspirator Amina Rubin names “Pamela Geller and her group” as responsible for the bias boycott. So if this is all about my action, why not have me on to explain my position and the the ISNA links to Hamas? The presentation of the entire action was fabricated out of whole cloth.

Why won’t the media do its job? Investigate ISNA. Instead they accept, at face value, the CAIR representative’s completely dishonest answer to this question:

A Call to Mobilize the American Blogosphere in Support of Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff

By Eeyore, VLAD TEPES:

We, the undersigned — consisting of four European blogs, one Canadian blog, and one American blog — have written this post jointly as a public call for our American colleagues to take up the cause of the Austrian feminist and anti-jihad activist Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff.

Geert Wilders is well-known to most American conservative and libertarian bloggers, but Elisabeth’s case is not so prominent. Like Mr. Wilders, she faces trial for reporting factual information about Islam. Her “crime” was to conduct public seminars in which she described Islamic doctrine, quoted from the Koran, and explained to her listeners what she considers the dangers of Islam.

Like Mr. Wilders, Elisabeth has been charged with “hate speech” for her words. Unlike Mr. Wilders, however, Elisabeth is a private citizen, a wife, and the mother of a small child. She lacks the major resources necessary to defend herself against the well-funded organs of the state which seek to persecute her.

Elisabeth will go on trial in Vienna on November 23rd, in what is clearly a political action intended to silence anyone who dissents against the prevailing multicultural orthodoxy.

Three Wars, Little News

Victor Davis Hanson:

It is a busy time in America. The Major League Baseball playoffs are competing with the upcoming midterm elections for the public’s attention. The rescue of courageous miners in Chile has for a time overshadowed even the latest psychodramas of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.

There is endemic fear among Americans that continual $1 trillion-plus annual deficits and near-10 percent unemployment are about to destroy the vaunted American standard of living. Who has time to worry about much else?

Yet, that said, we have been sleeping through three major wars that will soon wake us up.

This summer, Americans were dying in combat in Afghanistan at rates not seen since the summer of 2007 in Iraq. In congressional hearings that year, furious legislators grilled Gen. David Petraeus and cited the high number of monthly combat deaths to prematurely declare his surge a failure. Moveon.org ran ads calling Petraeus a traitor (“General Betray Us”) for continuing the war amid such losses.

No such furor surrounds Afghanistan. Yet more Americans have been killed so far this year in Afghanistan than during the entire six years of fighting there from 2001 through 2006. U.S. combat fatalities in Afghanistan in just the first 19 months of the Obama administration exceeded U.S. combat fatalities in Afghanistan in eight years under George W. Bush.

This depressing news warrants little commentary in the mainstream media but surely raises vital questions of national security. Why has the so-called “good war” suddenly heated up at precisely the same time American combat operations in the “bad war” in Iraq are largely over?

[...]

The MSM is silent on the war fronts simply because they are protecting a Democratic president and because mid-term elections are upon us. The last thing the MSM wants to do is cover negative news that could impact the chances of the Dems.

Abandoning our Closest Allies

by Stephen Brown, FrontPage:

A former official with the U.S. delegation to the U.N. revealed recently a major reason why Canada lost its bid last week to gain a seat on the Security Council. Richard Grenell, a former press officer, said the American delegation deliberately sat on its hands during the run up to the vote that ended in a defeat for a staunch ally of Israel and America’s closest neighbour.

Questions on the Impartiality of the U.N. Tomuschat Committee

UN Watch:

The U.N. Human Rights Council’s newly-renewed committee to enforce the Goldstone Report, headed by German law professor Christian Tomuschat, has declared Israel to be in breach of a duty to investigate “those who designed, planned, ordered and oversaw ‘Operation Cast Lead’,” and the “serious allegations” that “officials at the highest levels were complicit in violations.” Specifically, the committee cited the name of Israeli opposition leader Tzipi Livni, who served as foreign minister during the 2009 war with Hamas.

As soon as the Tomuschat Committee released its first report in September 2010, Palestinian organizations, echoed by Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, called for the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, and prosecutors worldwide, to intervene. This latest U.N.-inspired “lawfare” campaign recalls last year’s successful effort by pro-Palestinian activists in Britain to obtain a court-ordered arrest warrant, on charges of war crimes, against Ms. Livni, who has since avoided traveling to Britain.

Carol A. Taber Is Obama Submissive to Islam?

by Carol A. Taber:

A few weeks ago, I referred to President Obama as a “dhimmi president,” a subservient kowtower to Islamic power. Maybe it’s time to rethink that designation. He’s not a dhimmi. He’s a spineless, supine, surrendering subject of submission – in other words, a dhimmi-plus.

How else to explain Obama’s complacency with regard to a crescent-shaped monument (which Alec Rawls advances in “Crescent of Betrayal: Dishonoring the Heroes” his claim that the memorial is in fact the world’s largest open-air mosque), being built on National Park Service federal land at the Shanksville, PA Flight 93 crash site, while at the same time ignoring the desecration, theft and need to replace the Mojave Desert War Memorial Cross (our nation’s sole WWI federal memorial) also on National Park Service federal land? And how else to explain Obama’s stumping on behalf of the Ground Zero mosque while at the same time ignoring multiple written requests from veterans’ organizations and a host of distinguished American citizens including Speaker Newt Gingrich, Senator Rick Santorum, a few Medal of Honor recipients, Major Generals, Vice Admirals and many other esteemed citizens, asking that he restore the Memorial Cross?

Are Americans paying attention to this administration’s overt favoritism of Islam over Christianity and all other religions? Is the press complicit in hiding it?

Are Settlements Really the Major Obstacle to Peace?

by Khaled Abu Toameh:

For nearly two decades, the Palestinian Authority conducted peace talks with Israel while construction in the Jewish settlements was continuing. Every now and then the Palestinian leadership would complain about the construction, but it never made a big fuss about the issue. Nor had it threatened to suspend the peace process.

The Palestinian leaders even “forgot,” when they signed the Oslo Accords with Israel in 1993, to demand that the agreement include an Israeli commitment to stop building in the settlements.

Palestinian leaders living in the West Bank can’t say that they never saw the bulldozers working in the settlements.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas lives not far from a settlement near Ramallah. From his balcony, he saw how the Bet El settlement grew over the past two decades. It’s impossible to travel throughout the West Bank without noticing the construction work in the settlements.

Abbas and his predecessor, Yasser Arafat, talked and worked with Israel while the construction was continuing. Until two years ago, Abbas was negotiating with former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and his foreign minister, Tzipi Livni, while the settlements were being expanded. Ironically, the Olmert government built more in the settlements than the “right-wing” government of Binyamin Netanyahu.

So how did the issue of the settlements become the “major obstacle to peace?”

Obama’s Boss Buys NPR

By Joy Tiz:

Just days after declaring himself “helpless” to stop the Republican avalanche coming next month, George Soros paid $1.8 million to purchase NPR. The money is supposed to be used to hire 1oo “news” reporters for his Impact of Government project. Soros’s OSI is using the project to target state governments, as he is doing with his nefarious SoS campaign. Obama’s boss is conniving to install regime-friendly operatives in Secretaries of State offices nationwide.

Norway and the Jews

By Abraham Cooper and Manfred Gerstenfeld:

With the Jewish world focused on the looming nuclear threat from Iran, 60,000 Hezb’allah rockets menacing from southern Lebanon, and the dramatic shift of Turkey from an ally to an increasingly Islamist foe, one might think that Norway’s attitudes toward the Jewish State and Judaic values might not be worthy of a second glance. After all, the entire organized Jewish population in Norway — about seven hundred people — could easily fit in Oslo’s largest hotel.

In fact, Norway’s international involvement in the NGO world, academia, and Christian churches often means that what is uttered there can impact all Jews.

Federalism’s free lunch

Lorne Gunter, National Post:

Maxime Bernier is right: End transfer payments to the provinces. Let Ottawa give them greater room to tax their own residents, but let provincial legislatures also have to make the tough choice to increase taxes on their own citizens if the politicians want to spend more on health, education, welfare and other provincial functions Ottawa is now subsidizing.

Consider, for instance, that the PEI government is contemplating eliminating tuition for the more than 5,000 Islanders who attend one of the province’s two post-secondary schools, University of Prince Edward Island and Holland College.

Armey: Dems Voting Early to Commit Voter Fraud

NEWSMAX:

FreedomWorks CEO Dick Armey says there’s a good reason why Democratic voters are showing surprising strength in early voting — they’re committing voter fraud.

The Associated Press has reported that more than 3 million Americans have already voted in advance of Election Day on Nov. 2. So far, Democratic voters have turned out in greater numbers in key states like Iowa, Maryland and North Carolina. They also are doing well in strategic big counties.

Juan Williams may be gone from National Public Radio’s line-up of commentators, but billionaire liberal icon George Soros has donated $1.8 million to hire 100 new reporters for 50 of its member stations.

The money will go to launch a project called Impact of Government, which Soros’ Open Society Foundation says will “bring greater transparency and accountability to the workings of state capitals across the country.”

Centre refuses to host Steyn lecture on free speech

Adam McDowell, National Post:

Organizers of an upcoming talk by conservative writer Mark Steyn planned for London, Ont., say they were muzzled by a local city-owned convention centre.

A trio of bloggers who run the site StrictlyRight.com inquired on Monday about booking a Nov. 1 speech for Mr. Steyn at the London Convention Centre. The group announced on Thursday that it had received a phone call from the centre saying it would not be allowed to make the booking. The Convention Centre said it was a business decision, but organizers of the speech said they were told otherwise.
