CAMERA addresses delegitimization of Israel
By Shai Afsai & Paul Rocchio:

Olives of wrath
YNET:
In recent years, the olive harvest in Judea and Samaria has been a time of excitement not only for the farmers, who are eager to reap their harvest, but also for international media and NGOs, eager to sow their stories. The press and international “peace” groups are eager to portray Jewish residents harassing Arab farmers, damaging the groves and crops.
The validity of these reports is rarely, if ever, questioned, investigated, and re-reported according to in-depth information gathering. Another aspect of these reports that is rarely questioned is the driving force behind the stories.

Why Doesn’t Everyone Know Jan Schakowsky’s Husband Wrote ObamaCare in Jail?
By Stella Paul:
I know who’s got my vote for the cutest couple since Bonnie and Clyde. It’s the larcenous lovebirds from Chicago: Jan Schakowsky, the most far-left member of Congress, and her bank robber husband, Robert Creamer, who wrote Obamacare in jail.
What a romance! She waited as he served time for sixteen counts of bank fraud, selflessly devoting herself to trying to impeach Dick Cheney and to showering federal funds on her biggest, most ethically challenged contributors.
And he persevered inside the graybar hotel, aflame with the inspiration that became Stand Up Straight! How Progressives Can Win, a 628-page manual for how “to reshape the structure of one-sixth of the American economy” — namely, health care.
Endorsed by David Axelrod and SEIU honcho Andrew Stern, Stand Up Straight! gave Democrats the perfect voodoo recipe of lies, lies, and boiled frog’s eyes they used to cook up ObamaCare.
Here’s how David Horowitz’s Discover The Network describes it:

So, How Much Sanity Was There in D.C. Yesterday? (Updated)
by Charlie Martin:
What if they held a political rally and a rock concert broke out?
The “Rally to Restore Sanity/Fear” in Washington, D.C., on Saturday looked like it was probably generally a lot of fun. The crowd looked cheerful, and I generally like Jon Stewart and sometimes like Stephen Colbert. The music was okay — I’m a big fan of Cat Stevens, and the guy with the beard (Yusuf something?) who sang “Peace Train” did a pretty credible cover version.
But Roger didn’t ask for a review; he wanted the now-traditional Pajamas Media crowd size estimate.
As always, this would be much easier if I could get a photo of the crowd from directly overhead, and as usual, I can’t find one. Apparently, for some reason, they no longer let aircraft fly over the Capitol and White House, so we have to settle for the usual photos from locations from the Washington Monument or the like.
The AP provides us several in a slideshow. Here’s a good one:

Mark Levin on his fight against Saul Alinsky

Mark Levin took some time on Friday to talk about where he started with conservatism and how he ran into Saul Alinsky along the way of his career. It gives us a bit more insight into how he understands Obama and the radicals like him.

Goodbye Global Warming, Hello Biodiversity
By Alan Caruba:
After three decades of trying to push the global warming scam to a point where billions could be made selling and trading bogus “carbon credits”, the global schemers have abandoned it in the wake of 2009 revelations that a handful of rogue climate scientists were literally inventing the data to support it.
If there is one lesson to be learned from and about environmentalists, it is that they are utterly relentless. The ultimate goal is one-world government directed from the United Nations by unelected bureaucrats who are soulless strangers to the truth, to morality, to humanity.

John T. Flynn: A True Liberal
The View from 1776:
From the 1920s until the late 1940s, John T. Flynn was a highly regarded and influential journalistic analyst of American political and economic affairs.
His descriptions of Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal and Mussolini’s fascist state corporatism, in important respects identical political revolutions, are paralleled by the gulf between President Obama’s campaign rhetoric and promises and his performance in office.
When liberal still meant support for personal freedom from arbitrary interference by the political state, John Flynn recognized that progressivism, now called liberalism, was more akin to fascism than to political liberty.

Palin: ‘Corrupt Bastards’ At Alaska CBS Affiliate Tried To Create False Controversy About Joe Miller
By Mark Finkelstein:
Calling them “corrupt bastards,” Sarah Palin has asserted that reporters at a CBS affiliate in Alaska tried to gin up false controversies surrounding the Republican senatorial candidate, Joe Miller.
Palin said she has tape of CBS reporters in Alaska at a Miller rally that Palin organized this past Thursday saying “let’s find a child molester in the crowd as a supporter for Joe Miller” and blast that, and seeking to suggest there was some kind of chaos along the lines that occured recently at a Rand Paul rally.

‘Sanity’ rally features ‘Death to Salman Rushdie’ fatwa endorser
Rick Moran:
Irony was lost on the organizers and most of the participants at yesterday’s “Sanity” rally on the mall. In order to “get” irony, one must have an ability for introspection – a quality that does not emerge in abundance from the “hipsters” and nearly all white mass of cooler-than-you dudes and dudettes who demonstrated a cluelessness so profound, even liberal pundits didn’t quote know what to make of the whole thing.
That cluelessness extended to their embrace of the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens (now Yusaf Islam) who, back in the day when these sort of things actually mattered, supported the call of Ayatollah Khomenei for the death of “Satanic Verses” author Salman Rushdie.

Moderate Islam?
Jerry Philipson:
Every time anything even marginally critical of Muslims or Islam appears in the media apologists, Muslim or otherwise, respond by saying ‘moderate voices must be heard’ or ‘misconceptions about Islam are widespread’ or ‘Islam is really a religion of peace and tolerance’ or other such platitudes.
These pronouncements are dead wrong.

UN Org.: Rachel’s Tomb is a Mosque
by Maayana Miskin:
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) voted recently to officially declare Rachel’s Tomb to be a mosque. UNESCO director Irena Bokova had previously stated “concern” at Israel’s decision to treat the tomb as a heritage site.
The vote called for Rachel’s Tomb and the Tomb of the Patriarchs – the burial site of the other Biblical Patriarchs and Matriarchs – to be removed from Israel’s National Heritage list.

Nov. 2 – Expect Huge Turns to the Right Unless ACORNs and Labor Unions Play Their Dirty Tricks
By Jerry McConnell:
My advice to all election polling places, and I mean ALL, is to keep your eyes and ears open for unorthodox behavior not just during hours of voting, but before and after when sneaky hands can deface or change voting results.
And don’t think that these sleazy, unprincipled, conscienceless predators from ACORN, or whatever names they now sport to cover their past sins for which they have yet to be punished, are not benefactors for the liberals.

Diversity bites back
By MICHAEL COREN:
What these liberal dinosaurs refuse to grasp and are too insecure to accept is ethnic Toronto is conservative. Smitherman is gay and speaks of his husband. Many Muslims, Tamils, West Indians, Africans and others responded with an electoral “not our values.”
Then Smitherman’s pals tried to paint Ford as a racist. The alleged victims of the man replied that Ford had always been with them when they needed him and while he might say “oriental” instead of “Asian” and make the occasional, albeit positive, generalization, his pragmatic and colour-blind street politics were preferable to the left’s racial obsession.
“Stop patronizing us,” was this voting answer.

Could It Be Obama’s October Surprise?
By Ron Ewart:
We’ve been waiting for it and expecting it, knowing that it would happen. Obama’s October surprise has landed (pun intended), or so it would seem.
How convenient! Five days before the November 2nd election, Obama comes up with a so-called “credible” security alert and takes the opportunity to “brief” Americans (on TV of course, with the ubiquitous teleprompter) on how competent he is and how in-control the government is of this terrorist threat from Yemen. F-15’s were reported to be shadowing an airplane that was coming in from Yemen, over Canadian airspace, before it landed at JFK. As we all know, Yemen is the hotbed of Al Queda-sponsored terrorist activity, at the hands of an American citizen, Anwar al-Awlaki, who turned traitor, or so we are told. Does anyone trust what government tells us these days?

With Obama, the Future of Israel Looks Bleak
By: Frank Gaffney:
Earlier this year, President Obama drove U.S.-Israeli relations — to use one of Obama’s oft-employed analogies — into a ditch.
Arguably, ties between the two countries were never more strained than last spring when Obama serially insulted the elected leader of Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, vilified his country, and tried to euchre it into making territorial, political, and other ill-advised concessions to Arabs determined as ever to destroy the Jewish state.
Unfortunately, what the president has in mind for Israel after the election next week will make his previous treatment of the Jewish State look like the good old days.

The Great Divider — Or ‘Elections Have Consequences’
by Victor Davis Hanson:
The faux-Greek columns of 2008 have turned into pillars of sand, as the president’s Gallup ratings hit 43-2%, and his congressional majorities are on the verge of melting away — just two years after grand talk of a 50-year liberal regnum.*
Obama has turned manic in his efforts to save his sinking presidency. Every divisive tactic has been tried — and yet so far found wanting. We have gone through, in creepy Alinskyite fashion, all the bogeymen, JournoList enemies — Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, Justice Roberts, the Tea Party, John Boehner, Karl Rove, and Ed Gillespie. We have witnessed the furor over the voters’ purported stupidity — the dopey clingers who do not understand science or logic, but are driven by their “fears” to reject the hope and change salvation. Obama hammers that condescension home; everyone from Jimmy Carter to John Kerry in similar exasperation joins that chorus that we know not what we do.

Soros and the Collapse of the Left
By J.R. Dunn:
Obviously, there has to be another reason, and when we look around, we find none other than the Prog Twins, Soros and Obama. (Not to forget David Brock…or is that the stupidest statement I ever typed?) Obama has been having bad dreams about Fox, so Soros contributes a cool $1.8 million to NPR for the purpose of hiring one hundred investigative reporters to learn the truth about Bigfoot. Another $1 mil went to Brock’s Media Matters for the purpose, I imagine, of mixing more mud to fling — they don’t do anything else. Then, as soon as the checks cleared, Williams finds himself out on the street.
This is not a coincidence, comrades. This is the Alinsky isolate-and-destroy method in textbook form.

“High-level” political officials interfered in NBPP case, forced withdrawal
by Ed Morrissey;
The US Civil Rights Commission has concluded in an extensive report that the strange decision to dismiss a case the Department of Justice had won by default against a New Black Panther Party activist for voter intimidation came after the involvement of political appointees. Furthermore, and most embarrassing, the 131-page report accuses the Department of Justice of attempting to cover up that involvement, and that the cover-up came from “high-level” officials in the DoJ. The USCRC concludes that the Civil Rights Division is “at war with its core mission”:

Ducks fly at their own risk
Scott Stinson:
Birds migrate, and for a long time humans have been constructing things that our avian friends smash into. Electrical power lines are estimated to account for 150 million bird deaths a year in the United States. A further 50 million or so are thought to be killed by smacking into telecommunications towers for services such as cellphones and digital television. Both those figures, incidentally, are provided by the American Wind Energy Association, which itself is combating accusations that wind turbines are unnecessary bird killers — the “Cuisinarts of the sky” are accused of being responsible for about 75,000 avian deaths in the United States annually.
And sometimes, birds don’t slam into things humans have built, we slam into them. Another 60 to 80 million deaths annually are attributed to collisions with cars and trucks on North American roads.
Yet another of Canada’s most notorious bird killers is located a long way from the oil sands. The skyscrapers of downtown Toronto, especially those with the temerity to leave their lights on at night, are giant, deadly obstacles to migrating birds. There are even legions of volunteers who collect the deceased — and sometimes, the wounded — small birds that are scattered about the sidewalks of the financial district any given morning.

The Soros empire
By Jeffrey T. Kuhner, The Washington Times:
Media elites pay little attention to Mr. Soros and his nefarious activities because they share his political philosophy. Hence, they refuse to shine a spotlight on his secretive, rapacious and immoral behavior. They are complicit in covering up his shady, manipulative and destructive business dealings and his extreme neo-Marxist views.
Mr. Soros is the sugar daddy of the Democratic Party and the modern left. His net worth is more than $7 billion. He is one of the richest and most influential men in the world.
Almost every major liberal organization, think tank or media outlet has been the beneficiary of Mr. Soros’ largesse. The Nation magazine, Mother Jones, Media Matters, MoveOn.org, NPR and the Center for American Progress – all together they have received tens of millions of dollars from the financier. They serve as front groups and propaganda vehicles to promote Mr. Soros’ brand of transnational socialism.
He has poured hundreds of millions into the former communist bloc. The former Soviet empire has thus become the Soros empire. Mr. Soros has worked behind the scenes to destabilize and influence governments such as Croatia, Slovakia, Serbia, Georgia, Kosovo and Ukraine. In the process, he has plundered countries’ natural resources.
Mr. Soros is a liberal imperialist who seeks to erect one-world government.

Climate History Key to Future; Inuit Travels Provide Political Direction

1. South Asian missionary beaten, thrown in jail, released
(Source: Gospel for Asia)
On October 2, four anti-Christian militants attacked Vikranta Rao, a
Gospel for Asia (GFA)-supported missionary, while he and another
GFA-supported missionary, Nirav Pillai, showed a movie about Jesus in
a South Asian village. Vikranta was praying for the people as they
watched the film when the attackers came. The attackers accused
Vikranta of forcing people to convert to Christianity and assaulted
him before calling the police. The police arrested Vikranta, instead
of his attackers. They made him spend the night in a jail cell without
food or adequate medical attention.
Nirav, who was operating the projector at the time of the attack,
managed to escape the brutal beating. He fled and reported the
situation to GFA’s ministry office in the state. A GFA state leader
went to the police station and managed to secure Vikranta’s release
the following day.
Please commit Vikranta to the Lord, that he may be healed, fully
restored and strengthened to continue the good work that the Lord has
prepared in advance. Pray that those who saw the film would be
impacted by its message. Pray for the perpetrators and the police,
that God would soften their hearts toward Christians in the region.

2. Uzbek Christian fined for having a film of Jesus’ life
(Source: Forum 18)
Uzbekistan has imposed a massive fine on a Protestant man for owning a
Christian film. On September 29, police raided Murat Jalalov’s home in
Tashkent — apparently on the instructions of the National Security
Service secret police. They confiscated 75 DVDs and CDs. The discs
included the Uzbek version of “The Jesus Film.” The confiscated
materials were analyzed by the national state Religious Affairs
Committee. The committee declared that the particular film “could be
used among local ethnicities for missionary purposes” and was
therefore banned. All confiscated materials were ordered to be
destroyed.
Please pray for the church in Uzbekistan. Thank the Lord for the
faithfulness of the believers and their desire to spread the Gospel in
spite of their restrictions. Pray for all those involved in church
leadership and evangelization; may they be bold and courageous, yet
wise and discerning.

3. Update: Christians acquitted of ‘insulting Turkishness’
(Source: Compass Direct)
After four years of legal battle in a Turkish court, a judge acquitted
two Christians of insulting Turkey and its people by spreading
Christianity, but not without slapping them with a hefty fine.
Four years ago, officers produced false witnesses to accuse Turan
Topal, 50, and Hakan Tastan, 41, of spreading their faith and
allegedly “insulting Turkishness, the military and Islam” (for more
information, go to http://www.persecution.net/tr-2010-06-03.htm
). On October 14, Judge Hayrettin Sevim acquitted the defendants of
the charges that they had insulted the Turkish state and its people by
spreading Christianity. Judge Sevim cited lack of evidence. However,
he found them guilty of collecting information on citizens without
permission.
Turan and Hakan were sentenced to seven months of imprisonment, but
the court ruled that they could instead each pay a 4,500 lira
(approximately $3,200 CAD) fine, said their lawyer, Haydar Polat. The
charge was based on the fact that individuals interested in
Christianity voluntarily provided their contact information to a
research centre, where the two men had worked as volunteers. Their
lawyer said Turan and Hakan will appeal the unjust conviction.
Praise God for this answer to prayer! Pray the Lord will provide for
Turan and Hakan and give them the grace and strength to overcome this
ordeal. Pray for favour from those in authority regarding the appeal.
Ask the Lord to use the testimony of these two men to strengthen the
faith of other believers and draw many more to Christ.

4. Update: Protestant pastor to be sent to labour camp in Turkmenistan
(Source: Forum 18)
On October 21, Protestant Pastor Ilmurad Nurliev was jailed for four
years on charges of swindling — allegations his family and fellow
church members strongly deny (for more information, go to
http://www.persecution.net/tm-2010-09-16.htm
). He is likely to be sent to the Seydi labour camp, where there have
been claims of psychotropic (mind-altering) drugs being given to
prisoners. Those close to Pastor Nurliev are seriously concerned for
his health, as the court ordered forced treatment for alleged drug
addiction. They reported that Pastor Nurliev, a diabetic, looked
“very, very pale and thin” at the trial.
Among “witnesses” produced by authorities was a woman already in jail
on criminal charges, whom authorities claim gave Pastor Nurliev money.
Friends of Pastor Nurliev, who were present at the trial, said that
“it was clear the whole thing was set up.” Nurliev was surrounded at
the trial by MSS secret police officers, who prevented his wife from
coming close to her husband.
Please pray Pastor Nurliev will be given the strength to endure this
ordeal. Pray that he and his wife will know of the Lord’s promises and
His presence. Pray the truth will come to light regarding these
charges. Pray for his release. You can post a prayer for Pastor
Nurliev on our Persecuted Church Prayer Wall at

5. Take part in the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted
Church
No matter where The Voice of the Martyrs ministers, the plea of
persecuted Christians is always the same: “Please, pray for us.” Often
their prayers are requests for strength. Many ask for the Lord to make
them strong to withstand severe pressure to deny Him. Others ask for
physical strength following violent attacks. Some cry in prayer for
the strength to forgive their persecutors.
Every November, Christians worldwide set apart the International Day
of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP) as a special time to pray
for the suffering Body of Christ around the world. This year’s theme
is “Hearing Their Cry” from Psalm 10:17: “You hear, O Lord, the desire
of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry.”
There’s still time for you, your friends and your church group to get
involved in this exciting prayer initiative! Visit http://www.idop.org
to find out more and to download special resources designed to equip
you to pray for your persecuted family.
