Why does it seem that the public is being told that the only demand the Tea Party activists have is that their taxes be lowered? Though the activists would doubtless welcome such an outcome, it is by no means the sole impetus of their objections. In fact, the demand is explicitly absent from their “Contract from America.”
The contract — a written expression of the will of those like-minded Americans who would sign it — serves to convey to U.S. public officials a consensus outcry for a policy agenda of individual liberty, limited government, and economic freedom.
Interestingly, only two of the ten recommendations from the Tea Party’s contract involve the topic of taxation, and contrary to what the public has been presented from both the White House and the news media, each of these recommendations is devoid of any mention of protest in response to cripplingly high taxes. The movement’s members request, and the contract stipulates, that the U.S. government ought to:

The Left’s War on Tea Partiers

Opponents of the popular expression of conservative opposition to big government, the tea party, regularly note that tea partiers are overwhelmingly white. This is intended to disqualify the tea parties from serious moral consideration.
But there are two other facts that are far more troubling:
The first is the observation itself. The fact that the Left believes that the preponderance of whites among tea partiers invalidates the tea party movement tells us much more about the Left than it does about the tea partiers.
It confirms that the Left really does see the world through the prism of race, gender and class rather than through the moral prism of right and wrong.
One of the more dangerous features of the Left has been its replacement of moral categories of right and wrong, and good and evil with three other categories: black and white (race), male and female (gender) and rich and poor (class).
Therefore the Left pays attention to the skin color — and gender (not just “whites” but “white males”) — of the tea partiers rather than to their ideas.

FP: Your parents were Trudeau supporters, why didn’t this stick with you in making you a liberal?
Williams: It wasn’t easy to make the break. “Trudeaumania” was catching. Trudeau was a highly intellectual politician and constitutional lawyer with robust charisma. It was easy to fall under his spell, particularly for me when I observed the heroic stand he took against the FLQ during the October crisis of 1970, and the way he stood up against riotous Quebec Separatists. I was under 10 and still impressed. Trudeau also encouraged immigration from non-European locations, prompting a huge demographic shift in Canada that made him an instant sensation to visible minorities (creating loyal Liberal support to this day).
Now this one, I deplore: Trudeau also had an ambitious social agenda in favor of the welfare state. He fought nuclear proliferation, a stand I started to question in the face of Western enemies. He socialized with communists which raised red flags and alienated our U.S. neighbors unnecessarily; recall Lawrence Eagleburger notoriously disparaging Trudeau’s 1982 peace initiative as the “pot-induced behaviour of an erratic leftist.” Decades later, the groundwork set by Trudeau morphed into a destructive set of ideologies, perpetuated by the far Left that I found to be rather unappealing; ideologies that continue to promote individual disempowerment and state empowerment.
FP: Ok, let’s go back a bit again. Tell us as you were growing up how you ran into the Left.
Williams: Well, growing up I had lots of leftie family members and friends. I saw how some of them made decisions that were extremely detrimental to their own sense of well-being. It was their life, so I didn’t give it much thought. But deep down I internalized that some of these individuals were young and didn’t know how to exercise the power of choice for their own personal development because they didn’t think and didn’t have the tools to encourage their own thinking.
For example: going to parties, finding an instant mate, believing lies, getting knocked up, going on welfare for some time then repeating the cycle. This is devastating, not only to the moms, but to the offspring born to such an environment. I don’t look down on people who make these mistakes, but I find it sad that such individuals are not taught how to be make choices that would yield fulfillment by furthering their own spiritual and psychological growth. Instead, leftie ideologues are screaming for more handouts and state-funded education for preschoolers. They exonerate these people from individual responsibility. And how about calling out for the responsibility of parents as well?

The Real Story of the Oklahoma City Bombing

While liberal news outlets such as MSNBC were cynically exploiting the April 19 anniversary of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing by attempting to tie the terrorist attack to the anti-government sentiments of the modern-day Tea Party movement, investigative reporter Jayna Davis was setting the record straight in an exclusive interview on the AIM radio show, Take AIM. The Oklahoma City bombing was an Arab/Muslim terrorist attack on the United States, she says.
Davis, author of a blockbuster book on the attack, The Third Terrorist, has examined and presented the evidence showing that Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh was in fact a front man for Middle Eastern terrorists. The third terrorist, in addition to the two, McVeigh and Terry Nichols, who were convicted, was an Arab. This was the mysterious “John Doe” who was never found. But other members of an Arab terrorist network were involved, she says.
She says the evidence was ignored and dismissed because the Clinton Administration didn’t want to go to war with Iraq, the likely culprit, and wanted to blame the attack on domestic right-wingers for political reasons.

The Pentagon’s decision to disinvite not only Graham, but also the National Day of Prayer task force led by author Shirley Dobson, the wife of influential Focus on the Family founder Dr. James C. Dobson, suggests the Pentagon’s rejection of Christian leaders is much broader than previously recognized.

Data corporations are capturing vast caches of personal information on you so that airports, retailers, police and other government authorities can instantly identify and track you. Add to this the fact that businesses, schools and other facilities are relying more and more on fingerprints and facial recognition to identify us. All the while, banks and other financial institutions must verify the identities of new customers and make such records of customer transactions available to the police and government officials upon request.

Anti-immigrant replaces anti-illegal-immigration. “Comprehensive” is a euphemism for amnesty. Triangulation abounds. A fiery op-ed grandstands and deplores the Arizona law, but offers no guidance about illegal immigration; and blames the employer for doing something that the ethnic lobby in fact welcomes.
Nevertheless, here it goes: how are we to make sense of the current Arizona debate? One should show concern about some elements of the law, but only in the context of the desperation of the citizens of Arizona. And one should show some skepticism concerning mounting liberal anguish, so often expressed by those whose daily lives are completely unaffected by the revolutionary demographic, cultural, and legal transformations occurring in the American Southwest.

We do wonder, though, if Graves’ remarks reflect a CBC hangup. Every time it produces a TV series set in Alberta, it is built around stereotypical themes about ranchers and oilmen. Most Albertans live in cities, drink wine and ponder thread counts in their bedding. Albertans are noted for their volunteer spirit, generosity and friendliness to all.

Last week, Zachary Adam Chesser—a 20-year-old Muslim convert who now goes by the name Abu Talhah Al-Amrikee—posted a warning on the Web site RevolutionMuslim.com following the 200th episode of the show on Comedy Central. The episode, which trotted out many celebrities the show has previously satirized, also “featured” the Prophet Muhammad: He was heard once from within a U-Haul truck and a second time from inside a bear costume.
For this apparent blasphemy, Mr. Amrikee warned that co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone “will probably end up” like Theo van Gogh. Van Gogh, readers will remember, was the Dutch filmmaker who was brutally murdered in 2004 on the streets of Amsterdam. He was killed for producing “Submission,” a film that criticized the subordinate role of women in Islam, with me.
There has been some debate about whether Mr. Stone and Mr. Parker should view the Web posting as a direct threat. Here’s Mr. Amrikee’s perspective: “It’s not a threat, but it really is a likely outcome,” he told Foxnews.com. “They’re going to be basically on a list in the back of the minds of a large number of Muslims. It’s just the reality.” He’s also published the home and office addresses of Messrs. Stone and Parker, as well as images of Van Gogh’s body.

Barreling on, regardless

If safeguarding international security is the chief aim of US President Barack Obama’s foreign policy, then at some point he can be expected to change course in the Middle East. For today, Obama faces the wreckage of every aspect of his Middle East policies. And largely as a consequence of his policies, the region moves ever closer to war.
In Iraq, Obama’s pledge to withdraw all combat forces from the country by the summer has emboldened the various forces vying for control of the country to set it ablaze once more.
In Afghanistan, Obama’s surge and leave policy has left would-be US allies hedging their bets, at best. And it has caused the US’s NATO partners to question the purpose of their deployment in that country.
Then there is Iran. Last week’s report by The New York Times that this January Defense Secretary Robert Gates penned a memo to National Security Advisor James Jones warning that the Obama administration has no effective policy for dealing with Iran’s nuclear weapons program exposed the bitter truth that in the face of the most acute foreign policy problem they face, Obama and his crew are out to lunch.
