BOMBSHELL COVER-UP in San Francisco Muslim Shooting of Gay Man
Pam Geller at Atlas Shrugs:
Law enforcement and media are guilty of a deeply disturbing cover up in the crime of a group of homophobic Muslims that shot a gay man in the face.
Earlier today I published the shocking San Francisco news story: Muslims Shoot Gay Man in the Face.
In that piece I noted that the homophobic shooters were not identified as Muslims in the San Francisco Chronicle – SF Gate. What is not known is that this was not a decision made by the media, but by the DA.

If this report is true it begs the question: Would a Christian suspect be treated this way?
Is the Southern Poverty Law Center Terrorizing Decent American Patriots?
By JB Williams:
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is very influential in the current administration, almost single handedly responsible for defining “domestic terrorists” for the Department of Homeland Security and ratcheting up the racial rhetoric like never before in U.S. history, in the name of so-called “social justice.”
In the latest diatribe to come out of the Montgomery Alabama based mini-ACLU, titled – Rage on the Right – The Year in Hate and Extremism—the group lays out their justification for striking fear in the hearts of every Tea Party, 912 and town hall activist, angry over the federal governments mishandling of their country.
The SPLC report opens with—“The radical right caught fire last year, as broad-based populist anger at political, demographic and economic changes in America ignited an explosion of new extremist groups and activism across the nation.”

Don’t Leave the House Unattended
Jeffrey H. Anderson:
All of the talk about “reconciliation” seems to have distracted people — like a red herring — from a simple but crucial fact: If the House goes first, as now appears to be the plan, and passes the Senate health-care overhaul, the president would then have a bill in hand that had passed both houses of Congress, and — whether reconciliation subsequently succeeded or failed in the Senate — we would have Obamacare.

Obama’s Malignant Narcissism
By James Lewis, AT:
By choosing the “nuclear option,” Obama is demonstrating do-or-die fanaticism. This makes for great TV football, but it’s very dangerous for the man in the biggest power seat in the world. We are seeing Obama the Radical taking over from Obama the Pragmatist — if that one ever really existed. From what we know about his fanatical associates like Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright, sacrificing the Democratic Party majority in Congress would be only a small price to pay.
The question is what real damage Obama may do to the country. This man has been entrusted with the greatest power in the world. He will have that power for the next three years at least.
But he may not be able to emotionally tolerate any real limits on his need for self-aggrandizement and power.

Spy chips hidden in 2.5 MILLION dustbins: 60pc rise in electronic bugs as council snoopers plan pay-as-you-throw tax
Daily Mai, [UK]:
The growing threat of a stealth tax on the rubbish we throw away was exposed by startling figures yesterday.
More than 2.5million homes now have wheelie bins fitted with microchips to weigh their contents.
This is an increase of nearly two-thirds in just a year. The bins, which can be electronically identified and weighed, are designed for ‘pay-as-you-throw’ rubbish tax schemes.
Stealth tax: 2,629,052 homes have now been given bins with chips
Under such schemes – which are likely to be hugely unpopular – families who put out more waste will pay higher taxes to their local council.

Can you imagine living in a country like today’s Britain?
ABC Devotes Almost Six Times More Coverage to Jim Bunning’s Non-scandal Than to Charlie Rangel’s Actual Scandal
newsbusters.org:
Over the last three days, ABC’s World News devoted almost six times as much coverage to Senator Jim Bunning and his temporary hold-up of an unemployment bill as the program did for the ongoing revelations that Democratic Charlie Rangel violated House ethics with his trips to the Caribbean.
World News investigated and followed the Republican for four minutes and 38 seconds over two days. In comparison, the program could only manage a scant 48 seconds of coverage for Rangel. (Anchor Diane Sawyer on Wednesday finally asked George Stephanopoulos about the news that Rangel was stepping down from his powerful Ways and Means committee.)
The difference here is that Rangel’s story was an actual scandal and ABC only treated Bunning’s actions, which amounted to not giving unanimous consent to a $10 billion spending bill, as a scandal.

Connect the Dots Between Scientism and Government Spending: Add up the Human and Financial Costs
ENV:
Left wing ideology, the pursuit of government grants and the stifling of scientific dissent work together to hobble progress, reduce freedom and raise costs. Slowly people are going to figure it out. Support the right to scientific dissent, therefore, or give another weapon to Leviathan.
Unintentional assistance comes our way today from The New York Times.
On its front page the Times reports that Darwin skeptics have decided on a new strategy — linking doubts about Darwinian evolution to doubts about man-caused global warming. The article by Leslie Kaufman makes the ludicrous assertion that there is some sort of plot hatched by conservative Protestants.
Of course, this is a hoary old Times trope. In the real world, plenty of Catholics, Jews and other people, regardless of religion, question the alarmist view that human beings are largely responsible for global warming (to the extent there is global warming). The same goes for the responsible scientists of various faith backgrounds, and none, who contend that Darwinian science is collapsing in the face of evidence. And even a larger, more diverse crowd worries about the implications of Darwinism for our culture generally.
But the Times story does at least correctly and helpfully quote John West of Discovery Institute on a way global warming and Darwinism are connected.

Geert Wilders on course to be next Dutch prime minister
Telegraph:
Municipal results announced on Thursday put his party in first place in Almere, a region near Amsterdam and second in The Hague, one the country’s largest cities and the seat of the Dutch government.
If repeated in national elections on June 9, the Freedom Party could win 27 out of 150 seats, becoming the largest single party and putting him in line to become prime minister and form a new government.

1. Three Christian men murdered in Mosul, Iraq
Three relatives of Father Mzen Ishoa, a Syro-Catholic priest who was
abducted and later released in 2007 (see
http://www.persecution.net/iq-2007-10-24.htm for more information),
were shot and killed by unknown assailants on February 23. The gunmen
forcibly entered the believers’ home and opened fire on Aishwa Maroki
(59) and his two sons, Mokhlas (31) and Bassim (25). Aishwa’s wife and
daughter were also in the home but were not harmed. (Sources: Middle
East Concern, Catholic News Agency, AFP)
Pray that those in mourning will know that God is the defender of
widows and a Father to the fatherless (Psalm 68:5). Pray that
authorities will do all they can to improve security for all citizens
of Mosul. Pray that the upcoming elections will lead to greater
stability and a reduction of violence in Iraq. You can post a prayer
for these and other suffering Christians on our Persecuted Church
Prayer Wall at http://www.persecution.net/prayerwall.

2. Christians under attack in Chiapas, Mexico
There were several attacks on believers in Chiapas, Mexico in recent
months. Evangelicals in the state face frequent threats and attacks by
rebel groups and traditionalist religious groups.
In one incident, a Christian community in the state was attacked by a
group of 70 armed rebel sympathizers. Nearly 30 people were injured,
including women and children. Seven Christians were kidnapped and one
was shot in the back and left for dead.
On February 28, three Christians were shot and wounded on their way
home from church services in the region of Mitziton. Rebel group
members also reportedly threw rocks at cars and blocked the highway in
order to prevent medical aid from reaching those injured.
In the city of Tumbala, rebel sympathizers assaulted approximately 40
Christians who were asleep in their homes. A 49-year-old believer was
killed and 20 other Christians were injured. At last report, no
suspects had been arrested. (Source: VOM Mexico)
Pray for protection and endurance of faith for these suffering
believers. Pray for healing for those injured. Pray that followers of
Christ in Mexico will be an example of His love and grace, even to
their persecutors.

3. Christians sentenced to prison for blasphemy in Pakistan
A Pakistani Christian man, Qamar David, was sentenced to life in
prison for blasphemy on February 25. Qamar was arrested in 2006 for
allegedly spreading blasphemous messages about the Qur’an and Mohammed
on his cell phone. The court also ordered him to pay a fine of 101,000
rupees (approximately $1,200 CAD). Since his arrest, Qamar and his
lawyer have been threatened with violence by mobs and have survived
several assassination attempts.
In Punjab province’s Kasur district, a Christian couple — Munir
Masih and Ruqqiya Bibi — has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for
blasphemy. The couple was accused of contaminating the Qur’an in
December 2008 when they touched the book without washing their hands.
They were released on bail in January 2009 but were subsequently
re-arrested when the judge ruled against them. At last report, an
appeal to have the sentence overturned was being planned. (Sources:
Christian Solidarity Worldwide, International Christian Concern,
AsiaNews)
Pray that the charges of blasphemy against these believers will be
overturned. Pray that their faith in Christ will grow stronger during
these difficult days. Pray that the country’s blasphemy laws will be
repealed and that the abuse of these laws will end.

4. Iranian Christian couple arrested
Two Iranian house church leaders from Muslim backgrounds, Hamid and
his wife Reyhaneh, were arrested on February 28. When officials
arrived at their home in Isfahan, they arrested Reyhaneh. She was
assaulted when she resisted them. Other believers present were
threatened and one was assaulted for protesting the actions of the
police. Hamid arrived home one hour later and was also arrested. The
officials confiscated computers, telephones and books, including many
Bibles.
On March 1, the couple’s family members contacted authorities and
were told that Hamid and Reyhaneh’s case was to be referred to the
Revolutionary Court once charges were finalized. They were also told
not to make further inquiries. Hamid and Reyhaneh’s whereabouts were
unknown at last report. (Source: Middle East Concern)
Pray that Hamid and Reyhaneh will be released. Pray that their two
teenage sons will know the presence and peace of Jesus in this time.
Pray that believers in Iran will know the Spirit’s guiding wisdom.
Pray that Iranian officials will act justly, display mercy and respond
positively to the message of Jesus.

The verbal pogrom
Melanie Phillips:
A propos ‘lawfare’ and Anti-Israel Pogrom week, here are two excellent articles. Alan Dershowitz calls for a real ‘apartheid week’, protesting at the exclusion and oppression of Jews, women, gays and others in Muslim lands:
The current “Israel Apartheid Week” on universities around the world, by focusing only on the imperfections of the Middle East’s sole democracy, is carefully designed to cover up far more serious problems of real apartheid in Arab and Muslim nations. The question is why do so many students identify with regimes that denigrate women, gays, non-Muslims, dissenters, environmentalists and human rights advocates, while demonizing a democratic regime that grants equal rights to women (the chief justice and speaker of the Parliament of Israel are women), gays (there are openly gay generals in the Israeli Army), non-Jews (Muslims and Christians serve in high positions in Israel) and dissenters, (virtually all Israelis dissent about something). Israel has the best environmental record in the Middle East, it exports more life saving medical technology than any country in the region and it has sacrificed more for peace than any country in the Middle East. Yet on many college campuses democratic, egalitarian Israel is a pariah, while sexist, homophobic, anti-Semitic, terrorist Hamas is a champion. There is something very wrong with this picture.

The Pathetic God of Environmentalism
By Larrey Anderson, AT:
The God of the Jews is righteous and just. The Old Testament tells the simple story of what happens when God’s commandments are followed and when they are disobeyed. The God of the Jews doesn’t need any help. He is not a victim. He is the great “I am that I am.” As Moses found out, that is all that we have been told (and probably all that we can understand) about God. That was the end of the discussion.
The Christian God is a God of love and forgiveness. But that does not mean that the Christian God is powerless and needs our assistance:
At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. Matthew 24:30 [Emphasis added.]
Not so with the pathetic god of the environmentalists. She is sick. She requires that we pass cap-and-trade legislation — least she suffer even more.
The theological conclusion that follows from worshiping Mother Earth is that she is no god at all. She doesn’t even have the power to defend herself from the CO2 that is emitted when we exhale.

No Allies — But Plenty of Enemies
By Victor Davis Hanson:
Britain is a longstanding NATO member. It has bled side-by-side America in two world wars, Korea and two conflicts in Iraq, as well as presently in Afghanistan. And the United Kingdom still shares close linguistic, cultural and historical affinities with the United States.
We do not support all the British do; nor do they always support us. But our centuries-old friendship should earn Britain special support in its disputes, even in the relatively unimportant Falklands mess. If Britain is not considered an ally, then America no longer has real allies.
And perhaps that is the point, after all. The Obama administration does not wish to see the world so divided between allies and the rest.
The president rather abruptly cancelled missile defense with the allied Czech Republic and Poland in order to woo the antagonistic Russians.
Dictatorial Syria and the anti-Western Palestinians gain as much American outreach as does pro-American and democratic Israel.
Obama seems more eager to mollify Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez than to strengthen our alliance with a democratic and pro-American Uribe government in neighboring Colombia.
The list goes on. Meanwhile, Obama has symbolically tried to downsize the profile of the U.S. by downplaying the idea of an “exceptional” America, bowing to foreign leaders, and apologizing for supposed past American sins.
All that raises the question of what exactly are advantages these days of being a friend of the U.S., when neutrals and enemies garner as much of our sympathies?
We have seen such naive attitudes before in the West.

The New Pharisaical Bullies
By Jan Markell, www.olivetreeviews.org:
I have been called a lot of things but never a “bully” and never a “Pharisee.” But since I am referenced in a sad new book, The New Pharisaism: How Spiritual Bullies Attack the Church,” I felt I needed to respond to this pathetic attempt to call good ministries and leaders Pharisees just because they are contending for the faith in an apostate climate.
About a decade ago a new kind of ministry came along as a a result of rising apostasy and false teaching. They were branded as “discernment ministries” and that is probably pretty accurate. Olive Tree Ministries started out with a pro-Israel slant as well as being an end-time watcher. Today we also find ourselves trying to defend the faith and encouraging discernment in the church (Luke 12:56; Proverbs 2:3).
What discernment ministries are trying to do is take a stand against those who have hijacked evangelicalism in the last 30 years. For starters, that would include the “seeker-sensitive” movement that often dumbs down preaching, Emergent heresy, the mystical movement (so-called Christian Yoga, contemplative prayer, etc.), the new Mary for Protestants movement, the emphasis by evangelicals on fictitious man-made global warming, Muslim-Christian dialogue, and more.
Those of us being chastised by the author of this new book, Bill Slabaugh, take the warning in Ezekiel 33:6 very seriously! ”But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned, and a sword comes and takes a person from them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require from the watchman’s hand.”

Cry, our beloved America
By Berit Kjos:
Remember the Communitarian THREE-LEGGED STOOL: A mandatory partnership between the public sector (government), private sector (business), and social sector (community, churches, schools, etc.) — managed through Global Standards and laws established by national and international governments. This Communitarian system is fast leading the masses into a web of control involving food, health care (mental as well as physical), beliefs, values, education, lifestyles, business, etc.
It’s not quite Communism.
It’s certainly not American Capitalism!
It is (blow the trumpets) Communitarianism! The Third Way! And it changes everything, just as our president promised.
Daniel Henninger illustrates this new system well in his recent Wall Street Journal article titled “Obama’s Business Buyout”:

The Friends of Barack Hussein Obama: the Castro Connection
Posted by Humberto Fontova, BJ:
“I have been affiliated with the Cuban Council of Churches since the 1980s,” boasted Rev. Jeremiah Wright in a sermon on July 16, 2006.
I have several close Cuban friends who work with the Cuba Council of Churches and you have heard me preach about our affiliation and the Black Theology Project’s trips to Cuba. The Cuban Council of Churches has been a non-partisan global mission partner for decades. I have worked with them for two decades.“Non-partisan,” Reverend Wright? Not according to Cuban intelligence defector Juan Vives, who from hands-on experience reports that the Cuba Council of Churches is in fact an arm of Cuba’s ICAP (Instituto Cubano de Amistad con los Pueblos) itself an arm of Cuba’s DGI, Cuba’s secret police, founded and mentored by the KGB and East German STASI. The ICAP’s long-time chieftain was Rene Cruz Rodriguez, perhaps one of Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s “friends.”

Anti-Obama Sentiment Sweeps the Nation
BY Fred Barnes, Weekly Standard:
The same thread runs through Governor Rick Perry’s smashing defeat of Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison in Tuesday’s gubernatorial primary in Texas, the elections of Republican Governors Bob McDonnell of Virginia and Chris Christie of New Jersey last fall, and the Senate victory of Republican Scott Brown of Massachusetts in January. It’s an anti-Washington thread, for sure. But the core of it is an anti-Obama trend.
