It should not have been lost on those who gathered at the Media War on Islam conference in Stouffville, Ont., recently, that it is only because they live in a democracy that they could gather to trash it.

Among the bizarre observations made at the gathering were that the Christmas Day bomber was part of an Israeli plot, and al-Qaeda was a “figment of the imagination of the West.” This and more, while police stood outside to protect the conference delegates.
